Just sayin': I agree. Now the same thing was said about about Joe Burrow when he was at Ohio State. Now the interesting thing will be (if Lincoln Kienholz does opt to transfer out after this season) just what "level' school will he go for? Will he go for a "D1 top tier school" that should be competing for a National Championship (i.e. LSU like Burrow did) or a lower level school where he would undoubtedly have a higher probability of getting to start?
Now with that being said, Lincoln Kienholz is a true Junior majoring in Business Real Estate (i.e. Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the Fisher College of Business). His first 2 years he was recognized as a "Scholar-Athlete":
2024: OSU Scholar-Athlete, Academic all-Big Ten Conference
2023: OSU Scholar-Athlete
He didn't play in 2024, so he has 2 more years of NCAA eligibility for football after this season. Based on his major and "scholar status", I'll say he takes his educational opportunities at Ohio State more serious than a lot of other athletes do. I do believe that it would really help him achieve his long term business career goals to come back next season to graduate and then if he still wanted to transfer he could do it for the 2027 season.

Just sayin': Yeah, it will probably boil to what he thinks his "football ceiling" is: i.e. Joe Burrow 2.0, just wants a chance to be QB1 somewhere, or something in between. I do think he is getting some NIL deals at Ohio State which might not be available at NDSU (although he may be partial to the SDSU Jackrabbits or the SDU Coyotes since he is from Pierre, SD): i.e. Tommy John, Pursuit Suits, and Byers Auto Group, etc.

We've seen Dakota play in the last two games and I gotta think that there is a package or two that Hart has in place that will lean into Lincoln's strengths. My caution is this: Wait for the perfect opportunity. Don't try to force anything, because that can backfire big time.

I wouldn’t discount him potentially staying based on the likelihood Sayin is gone after next year.
As previously stated, he’d still have his Redshirt Senior year to play in the system he has learned. Worst case scenario he gets one more year of tutelage under Day, before leaving for his 5th year elsewhere.

There's no way he stays another year if it's about football and as much as I love tOSU, I left a PhD fellowship to go to law school somewhere else. A tOSU degree means a lot in Ohio, but if he wants to live where he grew up, it makes sense to transfer back there and make some noise for them.
On the football side, Sayin has just given TSC and tOSU the Death Star plans for what the right young player can do in his first year. TSC will be the backup next year and take over the next.
