Over the last 4 weeks McCord is leading JJ in a ton of critical areas.
- Passing grade:
McCord: 1st in Big Ten - JJ: 9th
- Comp%:
McCord: 1st in Big Ten - JJ 6th
-yds/att:
McCord: 2nd in Bin Ten - JJ: 6th
- TDs:
McCord: 1st in Big Ten with 10 - JJ 0. He hasn’t thrown a single TD pass in the month of November.
- Vs blitz:
- McCord: 4th in Big Ten - JJ: 11th
- Short throws:
McCord: 1st in Big Ten with 94% - JJth 8th at 72%

McCord is just really improving and hopefully he gets the protection he needs to continue to be that effective. When he has just a little time, he has been damn good. Also, I love JJ's rank against the blitz...I have a feeling Knowles might be aware of that stat as well.

I think one of the keys is that Day has been providing Kyle with someone he can dumped the ball off to. And Kyle has been consistently getting the ball to them when needed. Granted, he's missed a few open wide receivers down field but the Offense is not facing as many 3rd and long situations. This will be key when we face the cheaters up north.

It takes a while for an inexperienced QB to push it downfield and get his touch right. He has already gotten pretty comfortable over the middle which is huge. He can take another tremendous step on Saturday

I like that Kyle continues to grow and believe in his ability while JJ may be questioning his ability due to his coaches cheating. Allegedly;-)

Agreed to all of this. I was in the Brown camp to start the season (love his swagger and leadership), but Kyle has improved tremendously and I’m happy to have him as QB1. His numbers actually rival and beat out Penix over the last month.
His biggest issues are rushing through his reads and getting scared on the blindside. Both can easily be attributed to the oline and it’s pass blocking. We saw last game the difference when they had Henderson pick up the chip block giving him time to go through reads and set his feet. If the oline can pull it together, Kyle will improve his confidence and really become special over the next two months.

Nope. Think you’d have to go into next year with an open competition again. Give the other 2 QB’s more snaps in the practices up to the bowl as well.

No progress during the year... still doing same things .. immobile, single reads, bad footwork. inconsistent accuracy
