QB Justin Zwick (B1G Champion, National Champion)

When this first surfaced it made no sense. He was one play away from starting and taking the job back. But after watching the way JT has committed to Smith this season, and with both Schoenhoft an Boeckman to contend with next year, this may be the only way he ever plays.

Boeckman's play agaisnt IU was telling. I know some said that was just JT getting Todd's feet wet, but that has never been JTs M.O. Number 2 always played second.

Sad if true, but this time I can believe it.

Well, if he wanted to make the move down, Youngstown State is currently 7-2 and a program on its way back up in I-AA (will likely make the playoffs). I haven't checked on what their QB situation is, but it would seem like a logical fit for many reasons. I too would like to see Justin stick around, but I can also understand his wanting for playing time in his final shot.

I hope that Justin will do what is right for Justin. He has been a class act, but it is clear that he is not going to be the starting quarterback at Ohio State, barring an injury to Smith and maybe even not then.

If Schoenhoft is as good as the talk we've all been hearing, then Tressel is likely to want to give him some playing time as well next year. So, if Zwick is still holding that pro football dream, he may have to drop down a division and hope he really shines.

It is incredibly unfortunate, given our hopes for him but the Justin had a couple of real chances to prove himself and he didn't make it happen. Maybe in another offense he can.

In my mind, he will always be a Buckeye and I won't hold it against him if he decides that his interests are better served going somewhere else. He has shown more than enough loyalty.

I hope he sticks it out because he loves it at OSU and he is a buckeye. I can't see what he has to gain by transfering down with 1 year left. He probably has more oppt. for exposure as a back-up at OSU. realistically he isn't an NFL prospect anyway

If we goes to YSU or some other small school he'll play in front of less people than he probably did at Massillon games, and he'll have 1 year to learn a new system etc. and not get his diploma from the top public university in the state.

Ultimately he has to do what makes him happy...

Think about the last time Zwick came in to mop up (Indiana). Zwick passed on the second play. In the Minnesota game where Boeckman came in, he did nothing but hand the ball off, plus did get inserted suddenly in the middle of a possession. If Tressel was trying to get Boeckman some PT, he'd at least let him try a pass. I think Tressel was not pulling anyone's leg when he said he put in the first backup QB he saw just to get Smith out of there.

Troy being "the guy" didn't sneak up on justin. Maybe he did have a shot this year, but he had to know what he was up against. If he was gonna transfer, he woulda done it before this season.
