QB Justin Zwick (B1G Champion, National Champion)

Wow

After reading this thread, which I think there is alot of x-cellent opinions and concerns about the future QB. I love to read what the buckeye nation has to say.

JT gave JZ his shot and JZ did not pan out at QB.

Quotes from Conley in his chat today over on BN's.

"It wouldn't surprise me if Justin Zwick contemplates transferring."

"He probably would stay if he thought he had a legitimate shot at winning the position back. That looks like a long shot. Now he not only has to worry about Troy Smith but also Todd Boeckman, who will be a year older and more experienced."

I just think JZ is kinda screwed either way. He could only have 1 more year at any other D1A school. I think his best chance is to compete for the OSU job. I hope he stays...you never know what the future will bring...and it never hurts to be deep in talent. If he leaves, where would he go? Transfer to a smaller non D1A school?

One of the points I was trying to make in starting this thread is that only weeks ago some were questioning if Smith should transfer because Zwick had a stranglehold on the job. Look what has happened since.

I agree that Smith now has a tighter hold than Justin ever did - but the fickle finger of fate can change that in a single play as well.

I think the Boekman angle is the clincher. From what leaks out of practice he's looking awesome. If Boekman passes Zwick, then no question he leaves IMO. If Zwick stays the #2 guy than he sticks around. Zwick showed a lot of good stuff in his 3 wins, he's got the mind and the tools to be very successful. He just regressed a little in his losses, but some say he was playing injured. Honestly, I guess best case scenario is Smith to step it up and keep playing like he did against scUM and Boekman to beat out Zwick. That leaves us a younger backup QB with no contraversy and lets him get all the backup snaps and cleanup in games.
