Not really sure that’s true; Fields was a better downfield passer in 19 than Haskins was on 18. Not saying that’s the only barometer but I guess I just don’t reach that conclusion easily.

I think the difficult part to measure is Haskins arm talent vs Fields.

Fields, as he should, gets many easier throws based on defense having to respect our zone read run game. Which means an extra DB in box.

Haskins didn’t have that luxury.

That isn’t to take anything away from Fields.....kid is uber talented. Id just expect his downfield passing to be somewhat elevated based on his added skillset as a runner.

Arm vs arm, I think I’d lean Haskins personally.

“I WOULDN'T DO IT.” My brain's never wanted to entertain the possibility, but it's becoming more and more real to me that we might never see Justin Fields play in a Buckeye uniform ever again.

If football season is moved to the spring, I just can't see why a sure top-10 or top-5 pick in the draft – which is currently slated to take place during what would likely be the middle of a spring season – would seriously entertain playing.

I know I sure as hell wouldn't advise him to play, and neither would his personal quarterback trainer, Quincy Avery.

"I know what I'll tell them. I'll say it doesn't make sense for you to play this upcoming year. I wouldn't do it. It's not going to help you."

At the end of the day, Fields can do what he'd like, and I'd certainly welcome him with open arms if the season's moved to spring and he wants to play anyway. But I also remember that he openly admits his decision to come to Ohio State was primarily a business decision to get to the NFL. I'd fully expect him to make another business decision, if given the chance, and I certainly couldn't fault him for it.

But let's just make all this talk moot by having a fall season, eh?

Just sayin': Dwayne Haskins found out that you really need more than 1 year of experience starting at the college level to make an immediate impact in the NFL. There just isn't any substitute for actual game experience.

QB1. Rest easy, Buckeye fans – it looks like QB1 still throws like he's QB1.



As exciting as it is to watch him toss passes more accurately than I could hand them to a receiver, I'm more stoked to see how that mobility, and that he's no longer rocking the robocop knee.

I feel like we only got a taste of his speed and athleticism before the injury slowed him, and that just ain't fair after the way he introduced himself in his debut.

I'd like to have more of this, please.

Fields is everything many of us thought Terrelle Pryor would turn into. Can't wait to see how Fields has improved over the off season

Justin Fields – 85%
This number probably seems a little low for people, as Fields feels like a first-round lock at the moment. He’s currently the favorite to be the second overall pick in the draft, and some have even suggested that he has a chance to challenge Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence for the first overall pick. However, that seems more like a media-driven storyline than a real possibility.

But while Fields may seem like a lock, we’ve seen too many quarterbacks fall off the cliff in recent years. From Jake Fromm to Matt Barkley, it’s not uncommon to see signal-callers labeled “can’t miss” plunge into the later rounds. Is Fields better than all of his fast-dropping predecessors? Absolutely. Still, no one expects the drop to happen until it happens.

Quarterback is a position less reliant on physical tools and more reliant on acumen and awareness. Those skills are tougher to grade on tape. Fields is a stud, but it’s risky to call any quarterback who only has one quality year as a starter a true lock.

Just sayin': When I first saw 85% (baring an injury) I thought there might be a 15% chance he's return for his Senior season.....:nod:
