ESPN is bringing a recent Ohio State star back to campus for this week's College GameDay.

Fields is currently a backup quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers after spending three seasons with the Chicago Bears from 2021-23. The Bears selected Fields with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft following his decorated career at Ohio State. In his two years with the Buckeyes, Fields completed 68.4 percent of his passes for 5,373 yards, 63 touchdowns and nine interceptions, earning two Big Ten Quarterback of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year awards for his performances. He was also named a second-team All-American in 2019.
Fields becomes the third straight former Ohio State player to serve as a guest picker for a GameDay broadcast in Columbus, as quarterback C.J. Stroud (Penn State, 2023) and linebacker A.J. Hawk (Michigan, 2022) were the most recent guest pickers. Fields is able to serve as this week's guest picker after the Steelers fell to the Browns, 24-19, on Thursday Night Football in Cleveland.
Some other guest pickers for GameDay broadcasts at Ohio State have included musicians Jack Harlow (2022, Notre Dame) and Twenty-One Pilots (2021, Michigan State), Heisman Trophy winner Eddie George (2019, Penn State) and MLB star Bryce Harper (2018, Michigan).
FOX‘s Big Noon Kickoff will also broadcast from Ohio State’s campus on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. The Big Noon Kickoff set will be located outside the RPAC south of Ohio Stadium.

Ex-Ohio State star will be among the ‘best values’ in NFL free agency as he tries to get his career on track

We have less than a couple of weeks to go until the legal tampering begins in the NFL and teams can begin negotiating with free agents.

Of course, a few Buckeyes will be on the move to new destinations potentially.

One former Buckeye to keep an eye on is QB Justin Fields, who could have several suitors on the open market. After spending the 2024 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Fields could look to take his career elsewhere, or potentially even return to the Steelers.

Justin Fields was labeled as the ‘best value’ in free agency at the quarterback position

In a recent piece put together here at A to Z Sports, the best values at each position group were put together. Fields was named the quarterback that could provide the best value for the contract he is projected to receive.

“Fields is free agency's best QB value for two main reasons. For starters, he's projected to receive a deal within the range of $6.4-$8.5 million, which is a steal, even for an experienced backup. Gardner Minshew signed a $12.5 million per year deal during the 2024 offseason and he's far less talented than Fields. He also had 37 career starts compared to Fields' 38 coming into the 2024 season and was benched later in the year. Sure, Fields was replaced by Russell Wilson, but that was strictly a result of design, not performance. Meaning, the above price range, or even Pro Football Focus' projection of $11 million per year, is a value that's nearly impossible to pass up.” — Evan Winter, A to Z Sports

As much as I hate to agree, you are right.

Sam Darnold or Mayfield count?

Mayfield was successful in Cleveburg. They were just too stupid to keep him and wanted the Rapist instead.

May have a point on Darnold but he sucked near the end of the year and the Vikings are going with an unproven rookie instead. Hardly a major success.

And I'm wrong about Goff. Didn't he take the Rams to the Super Bowl? So he didn't fail there.

The best example might be.... Ryan Tannehill. :slappy:

Come up with a list of 1st round picks who did not make it with their drafting team and became a star with another. Goff might be the best example but it's an extremely short list.

Accuracy cannot be learned during your 4th year in the NFL.
I am not here to argue your point, or debate Justin Fields NFL success... i am simply here to point out you are a micro-dicked, shit-breathed, cock-sucking wolverine. Whose mother was a whore and whose father was the a spineless little shit gibbon.
