He had over 300 yards of offense, 2 tds, no ints, and over 70% completions. I'd say he did okay with that Oline...

Yeah I'm not sure what you all been watching. This has easily been Justin's best season so far. He's not perfect in the pocket and will never be with his skill set, but to me he has started to anticipate more than in the past. The lines and skill players don't all seem to be on the same page but he and Wilson are clicking.
And maybe there's 1 or 2 other QBs that could have escaped like he did for that 43 yard TD run, maybe. I enjoy watching him play I just hate the Jets!

Less than 30 passing yards in the 3rd qtr and he's missed on some fundamental stuff.
He's every bit as physically capable as anyone. Mentally, JF is so wildly inconsistent that it's like watching two different QBs.
Inconsistency is the death of NFL QBs.
Wonder if he’d have had more success with a full junior season. Probably needed a senior season for as many reps as possible.
I suppose it's possible. But at the same time, there's a part of me that feels we saw his ceiling as a passer in 2020.
I highly doubt 2021 would have fixed what we're currently seeing with him now.
And his passing yards average per game has been incredibly consistent throughout his stop at CHI, PIT and now NYJ. 175-190ypg.
He just is what he is at this point.
Yeah I thought he’d get better after a change from CHI but unfortunately not. At least he has good money and can maybe bounce around for a few more seasons.
Hey if Tyrod Taylor, Trubisky, and Mariotta can hang aroundYeah I thought he’d get better after a change from CHI but unfortunately not. At least he has good money and can maybe bounce around for a few more seasons.
Rightfully so.![]()
Jets not ready to name QB1 after Fields benching

Jets bench ineffective Justin Fields in loss to Panthers
The New York Jets have no wins, no touchdowns (the past two games) and no answer at quarterback.
Coach Aaron Glenn, who bristled last week when asked if he was considering a quarterback change, reversed field Sunday after pulling Justin Fields at halftime in a 13-6 loss to the Carolina Panthers at MetLife Stadium.
Glenn, presiding over the NFL's only winless team at 0-7, is now open to a quarterback shakeup.
"I'm not ready to sit here and say what's going to happen next week with our quarterback," he said. "I would say this: That's something I have to look at."
Fields, whom the Jets signed to a two-year, $40 million contract in March, got the hook after completing only 6 of 12 passes for 46 yards and taking three sacks in the first half. This was after a nine-sack beatdown last week in which the Jets produced -10 net passing yards against the Denver Broncos.
In came longtime backup Tyrod Taylor (10-of-22, 126 yards), who moved the offense a little but ultimately doomed any chance of a comeback by throwing two interceptions, both by cornerback Jaycee Horn.
Fields said he was "a little bit" surprised by Glenn's hook, adding, "But at the same time, I can't be mad at the decision. I understand why. It's life. It's football. I've learned not to take anything personal."

The Jets gave Fields a $30 million guarantee, hoping he could be their long-term answer. He sparked hope with an encouraging performance in the opener, but his performance has regressed steadily.
