Thank you for making one of my points for me by using an NFL quarterback as a comparison. Burrow is currently a HS quarterback. You have stated multiple times he is an average (HS) quarterback. How many average HS QB's even get major college offers? None? He is well above average for a HS quarterback or tOSU would not have offered him. Does that mean he will ever start at tOSU? No. But if he were an average HS quarterback, you should be able to pick 100 HS quarterbacks at random, and approximately 50 of them will be better than him. Or if he's above average, approximately 35 of those randomly chosen QBs would be better than him. Do you really think that's the case? He has worked hard, become a very good to great HS QB, and earned the offer he wanted. He should be congratulated for his accomplishments. Whether his skill set and work ethic translates to success at tOSU has yet to be determined. But to call him an average to above average HS QB is ridiculous. As much as I love them because they were and will always be Buckeyes, but how would you classify QBs: Kenny Guiton, Taylor Graham, Joe BausermAn, Rob Schoenhoft, Craig Krenzel, Antonio Henton? And numerous more could be named, let's not act like because they were offered by and commit to OSU tht they're an all American. We get many average to above average guys. As long as he can help us win games, that's all that matters, but Burrows will be providing good depth, IMO, as opposed to guys like Waller or Jones who would/could win us many ball games as starters. Heck, calling him Alex Smith 2.0, is stating that he's average, lol. Smith is good at many things but not great at anything, and that's been known throughout his NFL career. If he can be anything close to him and work that hard, then we have a special guy, but his battle will be more uphill than Jones and Waller'S.
