QB Joe Burrow (transfer to LSU, 2019 Heisman Winner, National Champion, Cincinnati Bengals)

That game last night was one for the 'stupid 2-point conversion attempt' thread. Athens had an early PAT blocked, then chased that point multiple times over the next two quarters with failed 2-pt attempts and wound up losing by four.

He improved tremendously in one year, and his commitment played an impact in the 2015 recruiting class as well. Look forward to see a better version of Joe Germaine in a couple of years!

I will take a remotely close version of Germaine, that was my boy and favorite Buckeye of all time. He is the reason I wore #7 all through my playing days. But glad to hear Joe is in 100%...I really think he could be a great QB in our system.

What a great spot to be in for this young man if you think about it. Not a lot of pressure on him to live up to unrealistic expectations. No thoughts of him needing to play in his first few years barring a major set back. He can just adjust to the life of a college athlete, put a serious dent in his course work toward a degree and learn the system. I would absolutely love being in that spot. It takes some maturity to realize the benefits but I think it's an awesome spot to be in personally.

It's my opinion that Burrow is the hidden gem in this class. He doesn't get the publicity that Gibson gets and doesn't get into all the hoopla... The kids just goes out and competes his tail off. I had the time to watch that state finals game. Obviously TCC had them out gunned, and Joe went out and kept them in that game essentially willing his team until the final whistle. Find me another d1 qb that's laying the wood on a future d1 rb late in a game... Rare! Heart like a lion and a true competitor and competitors flourish in Meyers system... Period. Gibson is more athletic, and at this stage Burrow is the pure qb and pretty athletic in his own right. It's my two cents that Gibson will get the opportunity to compete at qb, then realize his skill set could allow him to be an immediate impact at WR. That will leave Burrow at qb and give him the opportunity to be the next man up... Hopefully a few years down the road, tho. Regardless, the cupboard is stocked and it's a great time to be a buckeye fan.
