QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

Thats my dude, man. I've said all along against the naysayers that "he doesn't have the arm", "he can't make the throws". He always had it and he could always throw it. He just, wasn't. We cant really figure out why but losing the cancerous anchor around his neck to Texas was a damn good start. So much more to QB'ing a champion football team and he always had that thing in his repertoire. Now he has the confidence.

I dislike the behind the LOS passes but some people are correct when they say that those plays are just baiting the defense until we catch them out of position and then, STRIKE. Once JT saw those openings vs PedState, he could smell blood and went for the jugular all night. Some absolutely magnificent passing and his WRs stood tall for him.

JT is going to end up the best QB in Ohio State history. He needs the BiG championship to solidify that. A natty to finish it all and he'll be one of the greatest QBs in all of college football history. Thats my dude.

I don't understand Barkley.... There are 22 players including a few QB's who have more rushing yards than him. How can you give a running back the Heisman when that's the case? Just because he's returned a few kicks? So what ? Penn State's linebacker nearly ran a kick back against us.

Mayfield's probably got the best case against Barrett. Outplayed him head to head and stats are a touch better, but it's real close
Mayfield's blemish (ISU) is worse than JTs. If he wins, it's a "lifetime achievement award." And JTs 25-1 td-int Trump's any of his stats, IMO.

And as far as Barkley, Bryce Love is better. Stanford Football™ is a pile of mediocre this year, but he's putting up super human numbers. If they're insistent on giving it to a RB, it should be him. Barkley's all around numbers are better, but Love is averaging like 180 yards rushing a game and over 10 ypc for chrissakes.

Like I said, Barkley's a great player, but there are better this year. If he would have went off on us, I'd have no problem with him being out front, but he was a no-show for the last 2.5 quarters. If sparty keeps him similarly contained next week, he should be done.

2 years in a row against their best opponent his rushing stats have been very underwhelming from a Heisman perspective

JT isn't holding the ball nearly as long as he used to. Receivers and the passing game is a million times better than it was last year. Guys aren't on top of each other with piss poor spacing and instead are running crossing routes off of rubs and are open.

Go read Becks thread on shaggy lmao. They have receivers on top of each other and the QB is holding it forever. Coaching matters.

here's the thing...most voters will not have seen the entire game...all they will see for Barkley is 175 all purpose yards and 2 TD's. Taken completely out of context of the game, those numbers look pretty good.

...And still being outrushed by rookie JK Dobbins and JT Barrett individually.

If voters aren't watching the entire games of their candidates, then they should not be voting. At least the past Heisman winners are likely watching most, if not the entire, game of each of their candidates...and even if they aren't they're smart enough to go through the stats and see that, for example, 175 all purpose yards and 2 TDs isn't what it appears. They'd know that aside from his 36-yard TD run, Barkley ran for a grand total of 8 yards on 20 carries (0.4 ypc), including rushing for -8 yards total in the fourth quarter.

My money is on a lot of the voters eyes being on that game yesterday. 175 when 93 came on a single kickoff return isn't impressive. They know that. Heck, it's almost the second biggest story line from the game. "JT comes up HUGE, Barkley lays egg (except for one kickoff return)."

We all owe Mr Ryan Day a great well done sir for the transformation of J.T. back to his own self. The debecking is clearly working. Tremendous job sir.
