QB Dwayne Haskins Jr. (All B1G, B1G OPOY, Silver Football, Rose Bowl MVP, R.I.P.)

Last year, Haskins escaped a pass rush against ttun and ran about 25 yards for almost a TD. This year, Haskins can't run, looks incredibly slow and can't move. What the hell happened. What the hell is going on at OSU. Did Marotti and Haskins both FAIL. Players are supposed to get faster, quicker, not regress into a freakin' statue. Heads gotta roll. People gotta be thrown right through the freakin wall Woody Hayes style. If Baby Haskins doesn't want to run fast then put Tate Martell into the game. Bench the stupid dumb ox. Heads gotta roll.

Sounds like this god damn team owes you a mother fucking championship...

Jesus, this the reason we can’t have nice things.

It's almost like taking off in a straight line with no one watching is not the same thing as scrambling laterally in the pocket (which is also about feel)

Like when folks misunderstood Cardale doing the same thing in the playoffs as proof that he was a running qb (despite glaring evidence of those failures during those games). Now Cardale runs with a lot more authority (and athleticism) than Dwayne but both are a liability in the option game.

Wise, I see where u are coming from but a bit over the top. Haskins isn't the issue with this team right now. It would be fair to say that Haskins is probably the most responsible for this team not having 2-3 losses as the Bucks currently sit at 7-1.

I think what u are seeing is the maturation process of a young QB. The more comfortable he gets in this offense, the more he's going to go through all his progressions and sit in the pocket longer. The O-line has actually done a pretty good job of keeping him clean much of the year.

We saw the same thing early in Braxton's and even JT's career. When the initial read wasn't there they would take off bc they were so effective with their feet. That is an element that is missing from his arsenal.

We are talking at least 2-3 WR's/TE's and usually a back slipping out of the backfield as a safety valve as options on almost every pass play. He is a distributor not a playmaker with his feet.

What u saw last yr in ttun game was a defense that saw a raw QB out there and they were pinning their ears back. Haskins didn't have time to get through his progressions so I would bet my house that the coaches instructed him to look at option #1, maybe #2, then tuck it and run. Try to keep the chains moving to sustain drives. UM left some gaping holes to run through bc of that aggressive pass rush.

He certainly looks more hesitant to run with the football this year and has to improve his "feel" in the pocket for when to pull it down to pick up a few yards when he can so drives don't stall. Also a big reason why the RPO run game has looked so bad.

It comes down to the o-line being able to create some movement up front to establish a stable run game. That's what will make this offense truly hard to defend.

I get that he's going to go, but he could definitely use another year to get a bit better in all aspects of the game. Was good, not great against Purdue and had a below average game today. Both against defenses he should've feasted against. He may go in the first round this year, but with his ability he'd be a top 5 pick next year.

Man no way I'm coming back next year if I'm a first round pick to this garbage ass coaching.

I get that, but I think he could still learn a lot from Day and continue to improve with more reps. And maybe Meyer would finally start to warm to the idea of adopting an offense without his unnecessary base concepts. Dwayne's missed some pretty open passes the last few games and is throwing behind and above a lot of WRs. Looks out of rhythm.

Part of this might be the emphasis on the run game over the bye, but it's impossible to say without knowing how much time they had to work on the passing game.

Meyer should have learned this lesson in 2015 when they tried to force a square peg in Cardale into a round hole. How the hell you run a discombobulated offense with Kevin Wilson on the staff is a mystery. Truly a special brand of coaching fuckery.

Yea I agree. I think the next 3 weeks will provide meaningful data points on if he’s ready to move on to the pros. He’s definitely not playing his best ball of the season the past few games. Really admire his talent and would love to see him return for 2019.

Love Haskins but the draft talk is all looking a bit premature now. Some of the pacing on his throws needs work, especially when he's going from his first to his second read.

No talk here about him being hurt on Sat...he had his worst game by accuracy and looked a bit different throwing the ball, especially in the second half. Watching the replay it’s glaring how many open big passes he missed.

Not often a QB rolls around in pain, gets up holding their throwing arm, and is completely fine with no ill effects.
