As a Lions fan, I want him so bad, but Holmes is in love with Goff and we're not ready to move on after the season he just had. It's unfortunate, because CJ is the same KIND of passer, with just infinitely more arm talent and probably a better processing speed.

I am inconsolable, but I would be shocked if we take him even if by some miracle he makes it to #6.

I was upset we took Sewell with Fields dropping. But yes if CJ or Bryce drop to our Draft pick please don't take a random DT. I know our D is bad but I feel about Goff the same kinda way I did about Kitna. Good enough to get you to the Playoffs. Not good enough to win anything once you get there

I agree there are a lot of pieces on the offense that could yield success. My only concern is their institutional ruining of QBs. Of course that can change with better coaching and players around you, but I can't even remember a top 10 NFL QB in my lifetime...maybe Stafford came close a couple of year? You're right though, they seem to think Goff is the man so taking a QB might be off the table. A good strategy would be to take Stroud and let him learn for a year behind Goff, then start him...that seems to be the best approach to a good rookie QB.

Yep and Stroud is the type of QB that would do really well with a good O Line and time to learn. He's not a scramble around a rely on his legs till he figures it out guy like Fields.

First "Mock Draft" that I've seen CJ Stroud taken before Bryce Young:

Stroud as the first player taken at his position. Alabama's Bryce Young and Kentucky's Will Levis are the other two signal-callers who have been slotted at No. 1 in recent mocks.

“It has changed up a bit, you talk to 12 teams, you get a ton of different opinions and you can’t get a consensus,” Kiper said Wednesday on ESPN's Get Up! “When you look at it, who is the most consistent over the last two years? Granted he had a lot of help around and it was pitch and catch in a lot of games, but when it wasn’t pitch and catch, the Georgia game, he showed wit his legs what he could do. How he could see the field when was flushed out of the pocket. The consistency from game to game.

"The fact of the matter is his size, the way he throws accurate to all levels, that Georgia game in particular stood out. C.J. Stroud could end up being the first quarterback off the board.”
