QB CJ Stroud (All B1G, 2022 B1G QB of the Year, All-American, NFL OROY, Houston Texans)

While Stroud sat out last week's practices and Saturday's game against Akron due to a shoulder injury, Day said Monday on the Ohio State Sports Network's Buckeye Roundtable show that he is “looking forward to a good, full week of work with C.J. and seeing how it goes throughout the week.”

“He’s feeling much better and much more rested, so we’ll kind of see how it goes Tuesday and Wednesday and go from there,” Day said.

Big Ten football quarterback rankings: Taulia Tagovailoa surges, Graham Mertz, Tanner Morgan fall

3. C.J. STROUD - OHIO STATE

Preseason ranking: No. 1

Stats: 63 of 101 (62.4%), 963 yards, 8 TD, 3 INT

Stroud had ridiculous expectations in the preseason coming on the heels of Justin Fields lighting it up for two years. Stroud missed the last game for Ohio State but in the games he played, he looked pretty solid, just a little inconsistent for Ryan Day’s liking. Plus, the loss to Oregon hurts Stroud’s stock compared to the top two quarterbacks. Still, Stroud is one of the best signal-callers around the country when he is on fire.
