QB CJ Stroud (All B1G, 2022 B1G QB of the Year, All-American, NFL OROY, Houston Texans)

Gregg Doyel went scorched earth defending Stroud and going at all the loser journalists hiding behind “anonymous sources”

He connects the dots on who said what and why/where they are getting their information

(hint: a lot of conflicts of interest, but go figure. It’s all “access journalism” today. Schefty and the sort are simply mouthpieces for the league/agents regurgitating whatever they say to set a narrative…in exchange for scoops)

Ironically, it was probably Doyel's Colts who were talking down Stroud (and talking up Levis), hoping that Stroud would fall to #4.

Uh, technically he could have come back again this year and started again with no threat to his position so seems to me that should have been water under the bridge in the very least. Not a good look at this juncture after all the yapping people did against him in the draft process and the work done by the staff to get his back.

Just go be great and remember where you came from.

Interesting interview with Stroud (13:12 - 20:20). He talks about how he “felt disrespected” by the coaching staff that they brought Quinn Ewers in during fall camp of CJs starting year.

I've noticed it's a thing that these younger-ish guys ( 21-28 in that range) say WAY too much anymore - 'Disrespected' or 'disrespectful'.

Not only is it a word and phrase being heavily overused, it's also being insanely misapplied either intentionally or because it's a new filler word for those unable to fully articulate their thought process.

edit: Not to absolve the use. It's poor form and bordering on idiotic either way you slice it.

Bizarre take. I would think he'd be more contentious about Day bringing in another QB in his class (Jack Miller) than a QB a class below him
Very bizarre. If I recall, Jack was committed long before he was? And they already had McCord coming in the next year when Ewers reclassified. If anyone should have felt disrespected, it was Miller and McCord.

To be fair.....this was a pre-draft interview. Doesn't change much, but it sounds like you're saying he shouldn't have said this after all the draft shit.....which isn't the timeline.

A little different take on all of this:
While Stroud is entitle to his own perspective on events, the whole episode is more an example of how an elite athlete sought and used motivation. It also emphasizes the lessons OSU learned in those unique experiences with Ewers, and how it could handle the situation better in the future.
