QB Cardale '12 Gauge' Jones (B1G Champion, National Champion)

What Cardale said is neither "just fine" nor "really bad." It was a stupid error in judgment, and I feel sure the coaching staff will find a way to underscore that point.

I say sit him for the next 2 games. Maybe 3.
I say sit him.. in his art class... followed by an hour a week... with his advisor.. picking out classes for next semester...

What I would tell Cardale if we were face to face... "Son, if you ever plan on having kids... I assure you, anything you learn in art class will come in extremely handy... cuz somewhere along the line, they're going to want their Dad to help with a school project that will involve drawing something.. and you'll be the hero"

Ahhhh, don't we just love social media?

Not very smart to post something like that. I am sure that Urban and Cardale will have a little sit down very soon about this.

Well, if he's still academically eligible (remember, school performance is part of having your stripe removed)....I guess he has a right to complain about having to go to class as much as we do (Why do I need to go to this class, I'm not even going to use it?)

I guess as long as he actually does go and does well, he can bitch all he wants about it to me.

We get it. Some division 1 athletes care a lot about school. Most don't.

You really need to pare that down some. A clear and vast majority of D1 athletes care about school. 99% or more are not going to play their sport for a living. Once you get to football, even just D1 overall, most still care about school. It's not until you get to top level BCS schools where you can start to see a majority only care about football.

I disagree with that. You won't find 99% of engineers, business majors, etc. that care about schools, let alone kids on scholarship to play a sport with the goal to go onto the pros. I just graduated from college. I also stayed at a Holiday Inn last night, so I know this shit!

Yeah, just had that conversation with my son last week ...

Him: "This is stupid, why do I have to know algebra?"

Me: "Because someday you'll have kids and they'll need help with their algebra."
