QB Cardale '12 Gauge' Jones (B1G Champion, National Champion)

I didn’t want to say that specifically, but I think that’s exactly it. I far prefer the college game for many reasons and this seemed to scratch the itch on many of them. The only thing missing was the bands and the tail gaiting.

Whatever it was / wasn’t... I enjoyed it quite a bit. Frankly, it may just be football during what is traditionally basketball season. I hate me some basketball..
Lots of 5 wide formations, I saw tons of toss sweeps, screens, double passes, and running QB packages. It was college ball and to boot it was a Saturday.

I just hope it doesn't fold after 1 year like it most likely will.

In the Houston Roughnecks first game of the year they hit 17,815 fans in attendance.

I wonder how many paying fans they need to "stay afloat". Seventeen thousand doesn't seem like too big of crowd; however, DC's stadium only holds 20K.

What are the XFL teams? Where will each play?
  • Dallas Renegades (Globe Life Park, former home of MLB's Texas Rangers)

  • D.C. Defenders (Audi Field, MLS)

  • Houston Roughnecks (TDECU Stadium, NCAA)

  • Los Angeles Wildcats (Dignity Health Sports Park, MLS)

  • New York Guardians (MetLife Stadium, NFL)

  • St. Louis BattleHawks (The Dome at America's Center, NFL)

  • Seattle Dragons (CenturyLink Field, NFL)

  • Tampa Bay Vipers (Raymond James Stadium, NFL)

Yeah, with a number of teams playing in MLS stadiums, attendance wont be very much. I'm thinking if they cant get averages in the 20k range they can find a nice minor league lane for the nfl. But the quality is not comparable to the nfl, and that's alright if they embrace that and dont try and compete against the nfl. Another gimmick that could work is using the USFL model and allowing under classmen to enter the XFL and play a year and enter the NFL draft, or provide a lane for guys who no longer want to be in college to get paid

They're already doing the second part. West Virginia safety Kenny Robinson is an underclassmen who left (failed out?) And is on the Battlehawks until he can enter the draft.
