QB Cardale '12 Gauge' Jones (B1G Champion, National Champion)

Meyer's post game: "We lost the line of scrimmage." Michigan State loaded the box. "The passing game just was not there." The conditions were tough, but "that was a very poor performance."

Just sayin': It would be interesting to get a more detailed analysis as to why "The passing game just was not there". And if was was the protection, why didn't they try some things to counter MSU's pass rush; i.e. screens, quick passes (3 or 5 step drops), roll out passes, etc.
From my view from the couch, the passing game was there almost all night. I think they will see it when they look at the tape. The receivers were open a lot, we just didn't throw the ball to them. Perhaps that long pass to brax was missed because JT's arm was cold as ice. We haven't thrown it all year, and he spent most of the season on the bench. Perhaps brax got used to slowing down for Cardale's under thrown ball so much that when JT threw one where it was supposed to go brax was late.

This all night, all day, all season.....the middle of the field was there for the taking....

Agreed. MSU's strength of their defense is their front 7; their secondary is garbage. Yet we chose all night to play right into their strength. I get that weather was a factor, but at some point you've at least got to try exploiting their weakness. Hell, even though it fell incomplete, the missed bomb to Brax should've told our coaching staff that we had some opportunities to exploit their secondary.

JT had enough passes, so that is not an excuse. The weather, especially the strong wind, may have an effect on the high throw. JT missed it, simple as that. Don't blame CJ on that miscue...move on.

Said the same thing in Zeke's thread. Announcing you are leaving the school BEFORE The Game seems like a slap in the face.

I know both are good guys and were heated in the aftermath of a loss that had huge implications but I really dislike how the wheels came off after the game. Makes you think the whole season has been a lie and that there has been internal problems from the get-go.

Yeah, I'm thinking the lug nuts were never completely tightened down since September.
