QB Antonio Henton (transfer to Ga. Southern and FT. Valley St.)

if we get TP do you see any possibility of Antonio beating him out or Antonio maybe switching position. I would be afraid of Tp transfering out if he didn't get the starting job after next year when todd leaves.
Count, count, hatch.

I could be wrong, but I think I heard the starting job is based on who is doing the best job at the time, and not who might transfer.

Nothing like a group of top-notch QBs competing to make for some great football... I hope the team is successful enough that they all get playing time, regardless of the order.

Thoughts? I think you're on crack if you think that Henton has to beat out Pryor. It's the other way around...
I don't think Henton has to beat Pryor out. Im just stating what everyone else is saying. Everyone thinks he's going to come in and take the job. Im just curious what others think. I don't think thats going and obviously you don't either. I was just stating that i could see henton moving position more than pryor moving a position. I was justthinking of a way both players could see the field. I hope they both play and like some people have said i don't want antonio to transfer if he doesn't win the job. Just a thought man, not downplaying antonio's ability at all. Nobody wants him to be successful more than me. I hope he sees the field alot this comming year whether we get pryor or not.:oh::io:

While I think that a certain unsigned recruit has all of the potential in the world, as they stand at this moment, Henton is heads and shoulders ahead as a passer. Obviously he lacks the size and speed combination that makes the unnamed recruit so highly sought after, but as we have seen in our system, even relatively unathletic QBs are able to gain yards effectively. Henton has more than enough mobility to be highly successful as a dual-threat. I agree that any QB coming into the program would have his work cut out for him when it comes to passing Henton.

Couldn't agree more! I think Henton has a ton of talent and I would love to see him be the starting QB. I think in a perfect world, Henton turns out to be as good as advertised and Pryor is his go to WR. I know I'll catch a rash of crap for saying that but I just think throwing wise Pryor has alot to work on.

dont' sell Henton short now though... he is like 6'3 230. He's bigger but just not as tall. Henton still has speed comparable to Troy maybe even a tad faster, and we know how his mobility helped our offense out. We don't need to hinge our hopes on one player because Henton right now is the future as far as I'm concerned until the "recruit" signes and shows he's better in practice.

Both of these young men have yet to prove themselves on the field of play at Div 1. That said, I am delighted that we have Antonio on the team and that he did not transfer. I'd like to see him get a chance to show us what he's got this year.

how patheic is it that if he has an above average career but still doesn't do quite as well as troy he'll end up goin in the 2nd-3rd round? 1-2 inches in height bring him up 100 spots or so from where troy was drafted.

I really like the way Henton plays though. He seemed like he was able to balance out wether to run or throw the ball. He wasn't always a run first guy even though we only saw him play very sparingly.
