Anyone who didnt vote Krenzel needs stabbed in the throat with a butter knife. Seriously, If Troy wins us an NC, then we can talk, but as it stands now, Troy wasnt even able to keep us from losing 2 games last year, with better recievers than we had in '02.

I think that's a little harsh. I think Troy is a better quarterback and did something Krenzel wasn't able to do, go 2-0 as a starter against scUM. It doesn't feel right choosing TS instead of CK but I think he will be the better qb.

The offenses each QB is directing were completely different. In the day of Krenzel, we were more of a ball-control, grind it out, play field position football team and CK was the perfect guy to direct that offense. Now, we have a much more lethal offensive attack. We have more firepower at the WR position, and have the ability to score at any given time and thus, TS is the perfect guy to direct this offense.

If you put Smith in charge of Krenzel's offense, it might've worked, but might not've; Same could be said if you put Krenzel in charge of today's offense.

So, I picked Smith, simply because while he's been there, the offense has gone from one of the worst in the nation to one of the most dangerous.

Good point. I think the offense early in 2005 was much like the 2002 offense. The Texas, SDSU, Iowa, and Penn State games were called very similar to 2002 season except that there was more shotgun with QB draws. I think Smith would have been very similar to Krenzel in a ball control offense. Many quarterbacks could have ran that 2002 offensive system. Smith has already proved he can run a more diverse offensive attack. Troy Smith just has amazed with his ability to complete the 10 to 15 yard pass. Krenzel just wasn't very accurate in the intermediate passing game and McMullen was better in 2003 when Ohio State was not in the 70%-30% run-pass ratio.

Krenzel made some clutch plays no doubt but football is the ultimate team sport. Why don't we just take the entire 2002 football team and put them on the All-2000 team. The other 21 players also went 14-0.

What is your point? This is about the best QB, am I right? I'm fully aware that football is the ultimate team sport, But someone has to lead that team, and some players do more than others. Some people make mistakes as well.

so, im confused, do you think that Troy is the better QB, or that he WILL be the better QB? Your statement contradicts itself a few times. If you think he WILL be the better QB, then you are right to feel wrong about picking him over CK, because that implies that Troy hasnt proven himself to be better than Krenzel yet, which is exactly how I feel.

You said anybody that didn't vote for Krenzel needs to be stabbed in the throat with a butter knife. That's a little harsh for people that have a different opinion than you.

My point is that everybody likes to point out Krenzel's NC and he was 14-0. Why not just put everybody on the 2002 team on there then? That 2002 team had a lot of leaders. Those that voted for Krenzel do have some valid points and I was just posting the reasons why I voted for Troy Smith. I guess you just stab me with a butter knife then.

His point is that in your earlier post, you stated that anyone picking Smith over Krenzel should be "stabbed in the throat with a butter knife". Your argument was based on the fact that becasue CK won a NC, and TS has not, Krenzel is the better QB.

His point was that Krenzel alone could not win a Championship, nor could Smith; that it takes an entire team to win.

Picking Smith over Krenzel is not intended as a slap at CK; the kid is a proven winner. He wasn't the most atheltic of kids, didn't have the biggest arm, and sometimes looked downright ugly. But, the kid knew how to win. In my opinion, however, Troy Smith has that same win-ability and all the athleticism, and the big arm. Hence, Smith is my pick; now bring on that butter knife!

Yes, because I really think they should be physically stabbed, with a butterknife, in fact, thats what I do every day, go around, find TS supporters and stab them with butterknives. Grow some skin, buddy.

I was unaware that there was any question as to who was the leader on the field in '02. If there is, then I guess you have a point.

Easy there Tiger. Saying that people who didn't vote for CK should be stabbed is an obvious implication that you think it's not even close between him and Troy Smith. Which is fine, but you're also implying that anyone who does think it's close is a moron - which is absurd.

I voted for Troy, because he goes well with my WR picks. But you can't go wrong with either.
