Purdue 21, NOTRE DAME 35 (final)

They were on their own 45, and like I said, they're up by 21. Was it really needed?
Yeah, after the game last week, why not? ND was down 3 scores in the 4th and still came back, and with our defense I'd definitly feel more comfortable with at least one more score on the board.

Defense was even worse this week against a Purdue team that didn't have the same kinda offense as MSU. We coulda used Travis Thomas in with the LBs considering our LBs are weak as it is, missing him hurt quite a bit. Theres gonna be a lot of sophomores on the D next year I think, maybe even some more freshmen with all the starters that will be gone. They can't be too much worse, at least they'll be getting experience :wink2:

This wasn't a lucky win, despite all the yards the defense gave up, ND was in control of this game from the first quarter till the end unlike last week. ND hasn't exactly been playing cupcakes here, check out how Georgia Tech took it to Virginia Tech today. Penn State looked crummy, but they were hangin' with OSU till the 4th. Purdue has been the first easy opponent, and after running over them last year I felt pretty confidant ND would take them again.

I'll give ND credit for having a very good passing attack and admit they should be ranked 10-15th.

That said, anyone who wants to put them top 10 or continue to hype Brady Quiff for the Heismann is fuckin nuts. The softness of the defense is well documented and the aspiring male underwear model at QB becomes very average when he gets pressured. Overall its pretty obvious to me, and opposing coaches for sure, that ND is a finesse team and, much like their coach, seem to grow softer every passing week.

You've played some good teams, but let's not get carried away. Tech has looked good, Michigan killed you, Michigan State may not win another game, Purdue will be lucky to make a bowl game, and Penn State will be lucky to finish 8-4. Sadly, as SI pointed out, this could be the 2nd year in a row you make the BCS without beating a team that finishes ranked...although Georgia Tech looks like they probably will.
