im ok with people doing the team builder if they want

But if they do, the team selection rating cap for those who dont want to do it should be set at whatever the highest rated team builder team is, IMO

I agree with that. The TeamBuilder teams have gotten pretty good.

I'm in too--sign me up for one of the dynasties. Not sure what the difference between the super dynasty and the one I'm in now is, but I'd prefer to stay in something similar.

Is there any easy way to just transfer dynasties, or teams from dynasties so you can continue where you left off from the previous season? Seems like it would be a no-brainer for EA to include that, but then again, I guess you could say that about a lot of things.

There is a way, but it's not that easy. The teambuilder website (still not updated with new rosters) will let you create a new team in the image of your current team. It's very time consuming because you have to enter each of your players names and attributes individually.

I did it last year with UK. I used the Navy roster because it was the closest fit to the positional make-up of my team. I won't be doing that again this year, because it was just too time consuming.

There were also rivalry glitches and minor problems with transferring draft classes to Madden. Unless they fixed the rivalry problem, all teambuilder teams will only have one rival, but playing rivals won't go toward your "records versus rivals" and can actually make players transfer if you promise a winning record versus rivals. The Madden draft class problem is something that's been around since create-a-school on PS2 versions of the game. Under "school" it just says N/A. Not a huge deal for me, but annoying nonetheless.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about........LOL. Maybe I should just skip it.

TeamBuilder. If you're in a current league, you can "create" that team via TeamBuilder and then import it into the online dynasty. It's a way to continue building your team. Some of us originally picked doormats as our teams in NCAA 09 and have been building them up ever since.

What kind of time frame are we thinking before we start up the new league? Are we going to wait until the first patch is released, or start up after a few days following launch?
I assume that it will take a couple of weeks to get up and running. I don't know if they'll have the roster problems that they had last year, but rosters and the first patch always seem to hold us up.

Normally things end up working out. Of course we wait for rosters to be finalized. Normally as we wait for rosters the 1st patch is announced. Depending on what that patch does and the timing will determine how quickly we get up and running.

so we are staying away from teambuilder teams, correct?

For my particular dynasty, we are staying away from the teambuilder teams.

Now, that does not stop another dynasty from being created for the teambuilder teams.

I won't be having them in my dynasty either. If fanatic wants to do a Super Conference again, then that would probably be the logical place to have all the super teams face off with each other, but, obviously, that's up to him.

Personally, I'm still a little burned out on playing everyone all the time. So, if there's interest, I was going to create a "doormat dynasty".

This is the potential setup:
  • Only the bottom 20 or so teams in the game will be available. (C- to F teams)
  • Everyone will be in a different conference, and no user will play another user during the regular season.
  • Users will have the choice of whether they want to move their crappy team to a BCS conference, keep it in a non-BCS conference or be independent*. Teams that move to a BCS conference will have a harder road in the first few seasons, but might be able to offset the talent differential sooner than non-BCS
  • We may eventually decide to move toward naming a dynasty champion, but for now, I'm only interested in doing a dynasty where we can build some teams up, and move reasonably quickly through a lot of seasons. With no user games, this dynasty could probably advance every 2 or 3 days.
* Picking your conference will be done in reverse order of picking teams.
