Former NFL wide receiver Brandon Marshall is apparently feuding with rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine.
On Monday, Marshall took to Instagram with alleged direct messages he said he received from 6ix9ine, who seemingly took issue with a recent episode of
Marshall’s “I am Athlete” podcast featuring Steve Will Do It, a YouTuber known for participating in challenge videos.
“I may need to rethink my career path,” Marshall wrote in the caption of his post, which included a screen grab of the alleged message from the controversial rapper. “Trolls are now mad at me.
Marshall and “I am Athlete” co-host LeSean McCoy had Steve Will Do It on their podcast to discuss his involvement in a recent video that shows him with 6ix9ine, approaching a Lil Durk look-alike named Perkio.
The video, which went viral last week, showed
Perkio meeting up with 6ix9ine, who put a jacket with image of the late King Von over his shoulders. The real Lil Durk was close friends with Von — who was
shot to death last November — and 6ix9ine has reportedly been taunting him about the late rapper.
During the podcast, Steve Will Do It expressed his regret in helping 6ix9ine meet with Perkio. He said he wasn’t aware about the jacket, and that it was supposed to be a “friendly” skit.
After Steve apologized for his involvement in the situation, McCoy told Steve to hold up his fist — which he did, and then asked to know what the gesture meant. Marshall, McCoy and others laughed and told him that the gesture represents Black power.
In response to the incident, 6ix9ine allegedly messaged to Marshall: “Suck my whole f–king d–k. Steven didn’t know ya was belittling him and laughing at him not with him but I peeped.”
The rapper continued, allegedly telling Marshall “that’s why u are where u at right now holding onto something u will never have again a career… u just another n—a who made it to the league.”
