Some parts of SF are also something else right now
I spent a eek in SF back in 2002 and I spent time in the east bay in the 1980's as I had family there. It's such a beautiful place but at the same time it's so fucked up.
Pretty much the whole west coast near the ocean is like that. A couple of years ago I was at the beach in Socal for the 4th of July to watch the fireworks and I froze my ass offI preferred the East Bay to SF.
SF is a pretty town. Love photos of it. Some good restaurants and culture too.
But I can't fathom being in a place that is that chilly during the summer time. Especially a place in California. I think Mark Twain had possibly said:

So trueIt's strange too how long it takes for the Pacific to warm up. I went to San Diego in July/August about 10 years ago, and a guy who lived in PB told me that it was too cold to go swimming even though the temp on land was perfect (high 70s to low 80s).
