I see the blue kool-aid is already flowing this year.

I wish a few teams would just knock the piss outta BSU and be done with it.

Nothing new there. West Virginia got the same treatment for several years. While I don't like it, I can see the rationale for giving a team a lofty pre-season ranking based, in large part, on a relatively weak schedule. I highly doubt anyone thinks Boise State is going to be the second strongest team in the country, but that's not what they're basing their projection on.

you can? I sure as hell can't.

"Hey Boise St.....we know you don't have the talent that any of these other teams in the top 10 do, but your schedule could be handled by a really good high school team, so YOU'RE NUMBER TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

yeah......I really can't.

I think everyone understands what the rationale is. Understanding it doesn't imply agreeing with it, which I don't.

I wonder if we will see a single undefeated team from the SEC? Even nationally, it looks like a toss up year.
An undefeated Boise could get into the BCS Championship game under this scenario. It could happen.

I would like to thank Oklahoma for ruining college football. Now every season, we get to hear about how great BSU is despite the fact that they play a schedule that would make a Big East team red with embarrassment.
and lost both lousy bowl games in between Oklahoma 07 & TCU 10, as well as the one before 07.

Just to touch on the BSU topic. I know we're all annoyed and pissed that they get all this love now. But would it, or would it not be the highlight of the century to be able to play them in the BCS Championship (with all the Bronco bandwagoners going crazy) and anally rape them (w/out lube) to the liking of 35-10? I personally am SICK of everyone jumping on their sac because they win out year after year in a garbage conference. In college football it seems that when an unlikely team supercedes their expectation bar and beats one halfway decent major conference team, they are immediately shot up the rankings because A) everyone loves an underdog, and B) the media LOVES selling a new darling/fresh face season in & season out. I want us to be the ones to play BSU, and I want to punish them severely.

Over Saban? Meyer? Kiffin? Not by a longshot.

You have weight to your argument. But I have to say that there is a different flavor of satisfaction with letting the air out of a set of lungs that have been breathing on hype and media obsession for years now. That opportunity only comes along once in a great while. If it boils down to it though, winning the NC (regardless of opponent) would definitely be that highlight anyway.
