2-1 Reading. 29th minute. Petr Cech with a howler off a free kick from Danny Guthrie. Downright pathetic attempt from Cech to save it.

2-2. Gary Cahill from distance in the 70th minute. Federici should've saved it, but it was coming in hot & with some movement. Chelsea were playing atrocious up this point, but the crowd & momentum has immediately swung back in their favor.

3-2 Chelsea. 81st minute. Torres taps in from an offside position, but the refs missed it. Nice combination from Torres, Mata & Ashley Cole to set that up.

Hazard was hands down the man of the match. He was brilliant. Always threatening with the ball, never turning it over & was spot on with his passing. Drew the penalty & had two assists. Very encouraging start from him to this season.

As a fan I have to say I've been more than happy with Chelsea's summer spending. Rather than going for astronomically priced guys like Neymar, they pick up Oscar who's passing and fluidity will have a great impact on the squad. Hazard has been a revelation. Marin showed a ton of promise and adds a TRUE winger to the squad, as does Moses. Both, much like Kevin De Bruyne were had for bargains.

The addition of Caesar Azpilicueta at RB (Spanish U23 International) was shrewd as well, and will provide both cover and competition to Branislav Ivanovic.

Chelsea are getting young, technically gifted, metropolitan football players. The youth academy is also starting to bear fruits following the consecutive FA Youth Cup trophies. Players like Lucas Piazon, Josh McEachran, Hazard's younger brother, Ryan Bertrand, etc etc are sniffing or will sniff first team football in the coming seasons.

Now Arsenal might lose out on Nuri Sahin after Liverpool made an offer to pay 10% more of his salary and Arsenal are dead set on there being a cheap buy-out clause. I don't even...

They dicked around in the Xabi Alonso deal, didn't get him. They dicked around in the Juan Mata deal, didn't get him. If they lose this they're invariably going to dick around in a deal for Yann M'Vila or Etienne Capoue over a couple million pounds and end up with Yossi Benayoun on loan again.

Adebayor has been given no. 25, which means the no. 9 shirt is still open...

Emile Heskey, come on down! :paranoid:

:slappy:

Good luck with that if he comes. He's physical, but has no pace up top and he's useless on headers because he's can't get any lift. Waste of space really. When Villa don't want you anymore, then you probably should hang it up.

I love Swansea. I really hope they're able to hang to Laudrup and their players and become a permanent fixture in the league.

Entertaining side to watch. I really enjoy their style of play. Dyer & Routledge on each wing is going to be lethal this season. I think they'll be just fine without Scott Sinclair.
