Let's not kid ourselves here though. Not only will Spurs not be able to sell him, but he'll be getting starts again before we know it. Playing CB for Spurs is like playing QB for the Cleveland Browns. Through injuries or embarrassing bed-[Mark May]ting, you're eventually relying on third choice bums to help you limp toward the end of the season.

I'm going to miss him making such spectacular plays for Spurs:

Vlad Chiriches - D - Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs have confirmed that Vlad Chiriches is leaving White Hart Lane for Serie A and Napoli on a permanent deal.

Chiriches was initially hailed as the solution for Spurs at center back but never really panned out. Spurs have spent the summer trimming spare parts like Younes Kaboul and Chiriches with rumors that Andros Townsend, Aaron Lennon, Erik Lamela, Emmanuel Adebayor, and Roberto Soldado could also follow. These are all solid moves from Spurs but with minimal inbound transfer activity thus far this summer it raises the question of how deep this club will be when the season kicks off.

So Wenger finally beat the db. Let's see if he can do it when it matters, or it will be another disappointing 3rd or 4th place finish for my Gunners. The play in the second half was as if Arsenal just wanted to park its own bus.
