Premier League (Official Thread)

*turns on Liverpoool v. Arsenal*

*eagerly awaits 606*

While I don't mind seeing them get put to the sword they way my team has been, this really sucks for Spurs' chances at getting 4th place. I'll take consolation in the fact that Liverpool has performed like this before at times this season, yet they have still dropped points at times to keep the teams chasing them in it.

Liverpool, unfortunately, is nothing special when they play on the road. At Anfield, well, you've seen what they are capable of, but when they play away it has been pretty painful, with the exception of the visit to White Hart Lane, they have beaten no one of note when on the road.

To me they have shown that they will absolutely eviscerate a team that's passive. They haven't been the best team in the league, but they have been the most ruthless.

Also, I believe they are finished with almost all of their toughest away games. They have a very favorable run-in, with nearly all of their biggest matches down the stretch taking place at Anfield.

Contrast that with Arsenal, who just embarked on the most brutal run of games one could imagine. Definitely how they wanted to start it, and it will be interesting to see how they respond from here.

It was a good goal (good strength and quick) taken by Adebayor today.

Great goal, and a good idea by Kyle Walker to pick him out on the quick free kick. Most of the game Spurs looked like none of them had ever played or trained together before. There were a lot of good individual ideas, but they were out of sync as a team. All it took was one moment of two players being on the same page to make the difference. Poor performance, but a great result against one of the toughest teams in the league to beat.

Also, Spurs were lucky to get away with those points after Clattenburg missed a sure penalty call in stoppage time. My live reaction was "OH SHIT" and the replay confirmed what I saw.

Everton really missed Lukaku. They played Mirallas centrally in his place. He made a lot of questionable decisions with the ball at his feet, and when Everton were in position to cross from wide areas they were hesitant to send it in to him or he had drifted out of the area entirely.

I thought Bentaleb did better today than he had in the last couple days, but the stubborn insistence that the team doesn't need a DM is driving me nuts. Sherwood did see the need for a little more steel and brought on Capoue to close out the match, and he was shit. He was the guilty party on the would-be penalty, and he often found himself in front of the ball then Everton started their attacks. Get well soon, Sandro.

I will agree with you on a fee things here, after King Kenny, Rodgers knew he had to change the whole attitude of the squad. Maybe if you are not a fan of Liverpool it's easy to forget the QPR comeback three years ago, they've made it a point to demolish teams. What will be interesting is the FA cup match on the weekend, as that's a rematch in London. Fortunately for Arsenal, our best striker staying at Anfield doesn't mean anything if we win the FA cup.

Yeah, they have done the tough road, especially right before the new year, still though, there's no way Chelsea or City are easy wins at home. Granted they came within an eye sight of drawing both of those games, that doesn't mean they are going to lose when they come to the reds home field. City, I believe with all my heart, can destroy any team in the EPL if they decide to, and Chelsea is Chelsea.

Also, the spurs are right behind the Scousers, and there's a lot of football to be played. One thing I can say for sure, it's a fucking great year to be a fan of the English Premier League.

Team v NUFC - Lloris; Walker, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Naughton; Dembele, Bentaleb, Capoue, Paulinho, Lennon; Adebayor. #COYS

We will line-up in a 4-3-3 system with Lennon and Dembele in support of Adebayor.

I like how they even tweeted out the formation because everybody was like, "WTF?"

Their left side is always so open it's crazy. Now Sherwood has gone and put a RB and an immobile CM out there. Two wide forwards and no chance for end product between them. He is a zero-fucks-given manager.
