Hopefully we'll run it back again this season. Thursby has to defend his crown somehow. I think we had 8 or 9 teams last season. Last season was my first & while it became incredibly frustrating about halfway through the season, it was rather enjoyable later on as my team was decent again (More like two players only, but whatever) like at the beginning of the season.

I'm definitely in again, but we'll have to rally the troops. There's still a month until the season starts, so let's not get too ahead of ourselves. Merih started it last year, so he's pretty much the commish, unless he doesn't want to do it again this season.

Luckily commish isn't much work. I'd love to do this again.

Doesn't seem like it's too demanding. I take it, it's just creating the league & then sitting back and enjoying the show ?

Sounds like City have completed the deal to bring in Alvaro Negredo from Sevilla (Two best players on the team gone just like that, both to City no less), with only the medical left to be finished. Also looks like they're at the same point with Stevan Jovetic from Fiorentina. A lot of smoke on both fronts, so I would expect these deals to be concluded within the next few days or so if true.

Looks like City didn't disappoint in the spending aspect this summer, but that was to be expected. They're bound to turn some of these mass signings into good deals at some point, right ?

FOX announces that "Fox Soccer Daily" will air at 4 pm ET daily on FS1.

I think that ESPN's daily show is at 5:30 ET.

Probably won't watch either and am happy that FOX decided to air Sky Sports News at 4 am ET on FS1. I'll probably just DVR that.

Somehow, Georgie Thompson from Sky Sports is now working for FS1.

The whole Rooney saga is getting old quick, MUFC needs to either get together and work this shit out or let him transfer, I can't deal with another month of him on the headline of every international sports section... sheesh.

Benteke has handed in a transfer request to Aston Villa.

I'd say Spurs have pretty much zero chance of actually reaching a deal for him though.

Spurs make more sense for him than any other team. I doubt he'd be looking to leave the EPL and the only other teams in the market for a striker that can afford him are Arsenal and Chelsea. Arsenal clearly don't favor his style of play and Chelsea have his national compatriot Lukaku in the wings.

Spurs are the most realistic chance to me.

I agree with all of those things. I just think it won't happen because it would be a very Spursy thing to not find a way to get it done.

Benteke signs new contract with Aston Villa:

Spurs confirmed the signing of winger Nacer Chadli of FC Twente. This move will go under the radar a bit, but I'm very pleased with it. The squad lacked depth on the wing last season after Andros Townsend was loaned and Bale was converted to his free/central role. It should hopefully mean that we see less of Clint Dempsey, who played on the left for much of the second half of last season providing no pace, little width and even less skill.

Most observers think this signing coupled with the signing of Paulinho signals a shift to a 4-3-3 formation for the coming season with Bale on the right, where he can cut in and shoot on his preferred left foot. If that change is made, it will be interesting to see what happens with Aaron Lennon. He was an important player at times last season, but few seem to think he has the qualities to contribute in that formation on the left side.

Love the fact that more/less Real's PR Wing of Marca still hasn't devised a better strategy than to throw out unsubstantiated rumors (of deals) to either try to drive up/down a players fees and/or get a player to think about Madrid.

Sports daily Marca, which is well known for its close allegiance to Real, also claims that Bale will be paid 10m Euros a season and has already told Spurs he wants to leave.
