Post the box score from your first MLB game

We went to a Phillies game when I was 6 years old but I don't remember the date (or even really the time of the season) so looking for it is pointless. I do remember it rained like a motherfucker the entire trip to the park and we didn't think the game was going to happen, but when we got to the Vet, the tarp was on the field but it never rained there and the game went on.

But the first game I truly remember was at Camden Yards in 1992. My Little League team went there in June. It was against the Milwaukee Brewers and I remember watching 3 drunk college-aged guys heckling Brady Anderson in left field.

ya those ended with the "new" stadiums getting built...Mid to late 90's Its all about the money..
Tribe actually had one on the 4th of July back in '05. Won both against Detroit 9-3 and 6-0. I was there for the first one and remember Hafner hit a pair of HRs including one of, if not THE, longest I've ever seen.

Don't have the box score, but the first game I took my son to was in Minneapolis on August 1, 1986. He was 7 years old and too young to appreciate all that he saw, which included:

It was Old Timer's day for the Twins. Zoilo Versailles, Harmon Killebrew, Camilo Pascual, Jim Perry, Jim Kaat, Bobby Allison Rod Carew - I can't remember all the great players who were there.

Kirby Puckett hit for the cycle.

Burt Blyleven struck out 16 - including his 3,000th.

I later made a trip to the Hall of Fame and saw the ball that was used for that strike out. Pretty cool.

And to top it off on August 1st, 2001 my son and I went to our first game at the Great American Ballpark. At one point during the game they flash on the scoreboard "On this day in baseball history" - and referenced that Twins game.

OK - here is the box score (thanks for the link above):

Blyleven only struck out 15.

Check out the box scores for the 1960 Indians; they played something like 22 or 23 doubleheaders. Probably about half were originally scheduled and the other half were rainout makeups. Some of the doubleheaders were on back to back days too. Needless to say, nobody worried about pitch counts back then. Also the seaon ended on Oct 2 and the World Series started shortly after that.

During the 70's when the Reds had the Big Red Machine they still played half a dozen double header's a year.

We used to organize bus trips for a double header once a year. Complete with trash cans full of beer in the aisles for the trip down.

I remember going down for "Banner Day" where you could parade across the field with a home made banner between games.

I remember once making the mistake of wearing jeans on a hot day and converting them to cut offs with my car keys. (One pant leg four inches longer than the other.)

I remember our groups convincing the folks in the deck above us to throw us some of their fried chicken.

I remember our group getting a standing ovation from the folks around us for our singing of the Star Spangled Banner. (The same folks who ended up calling the ushers on us for our behavior later in the day.)

I remember pissing off Ellis Valentine by continuously harassing him about meeting his sister the night before.

I remember making home made "show us your tits" signs that we held up to the windows on the trip down.

I don't remember the second game or the trip home from any of those excursions.

Ahhhh, baseball.

I haven't been a baseball fan that long, maybe since 2005, before I discovered the beauty of that game, and after that, went three years before I saw my first game..
A friend of mine in Missouri has praised the Cardinals and everything about them, and I got a ticket in birthday present, in the infield box, very good seats.. I was about to see my first MLB baseball game, actually in 2004-5 I have been to Columbus a couple of times (since I'm from over the pond, it's a nice airplane to get there first), and there I have watched the Clippers play, but the game didn't catch me at first.
Then we got into Busch Stadium, and I felt the MLB atmosphere, much better I thought, I've watched a lot of stuff W/ Albert Pujols before and I got a shirt, and the Cards where getting under my skin..

They played a horrible game, and lost 3-4 to the Brewers. I watched the two other games in that home series too.. Since then, I've been flying into St. Louis more often.

PapaWoof is a native Michigander and took me to my first ever game at Old Tiger Stadium. I was 8 and was one of the last things I did with my grandpa (he came too and passed the following spring).

Ken Williams hit a home run and the Tigers won. I love being able to tell people I saw a game in Old Tigers Stadium. One of the great old ball parks. No peanuts or cracker jacks that day - but I did get a mini sundae in a Tigers helmet.
