I could see this going either way. Certainly, Day trusts Kelly enough to let him call the plays... BUT it also sounds like an echo chamber feedback loop to me. Do we really need two Day's? I hope the fact that they're all clearly all in on the year is enough to make them aggressive with the talent we have and not just continuing the turtle-ing we've seen.
Gotta be some players that went to UCLA because he’s Chip Kelly and will want to follow him here.
OL | Duke Clemens, R-Sr., UCLA (played OG & C) |
DL | Laiatu Latu, Sr., UCLA* (*) Two-time first team selection.......expected to be in NFL draft |
LB | Darius Muasau, R-Sr., UCLA |
Damn good point about the relationships. If there was ever a chance that new faces would go smoothly, it would be this hire connecting Frye and Day through Chip. I'm stoked!I think it would be an amazing fit. Chip Kelly was dynamic at putting Oregon on the map. He didn’t pan out in the NFL and hated LA - understandable. But if you’re truly interested in Day becoming the CEO and giving up play calling , who more to trust than your own mentor. The lessons Day will be able to learn for future growth of himself and the program in this scenario would be outstanding. I think the players would love it, he can recruit well, and there’s relationships built between the 3 big offensive contributors: OC, OL, HC.
Yep. Hopefully someone to work alongside LJ to start preparing for a transition when he hangs it up. ( my guess is after this year.}And the Bucks still have one more (10th) spot to fill on the coaching?
Connor? Is that you?I would pay a lot to watch practice!
