Felony charge against Penn State DT Taylor dismissed

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- The most serious charge against Penn State defensive tackle Phil Taylor has been dismissed.

Authorities say Taylor and two other former players beat up a man during a dance in October. A felony aggravated assault charge against Taylor was dismissed during a preliminary hearing Wednesday.

Taylor now faces trial on simple assault, disorderly conduct and other charges. Centre County District Attorney Michael Madeira says he would not rule out the possibility of refiling the felony charge against Taylor.

Mizzou suspends linebacker Booker after weekend arrest

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Missouri linebacker Marquis Booker was suspended Monday following his arrest in which police said he threatened to "light the place up" and grabbed a handgun from his car during a parking lot argument.

The 20-year-old sophomore backup was arrested early Sunday outside an apartment complex on suspicion of unlawfully using a weapon and an underage liquor law violation, police said. He was released from the Boone County Jail after posting a $4,800 bond.

Booker cocked the gun but did not point it at anyone, according to police. He drove off with four others as officers arrived. Officers found a loaded 9-millimeter Ruger handgun under the front passenger seat. Booker said the gun was his.

Brandon Ore was dismissed from the VaTech football program yesterday.. I'm not positive why. I heard that his 'facebook' page reads that he is "going through a life change" or something of the sorts. Virginia Tech has seemingly turned into the new "thug u" unfortunately.. hopefully everything works out for Brandon in the future, whatever he decides to do...

Let's keep this thread for players and incidents with actual police involvement, rather than things that involve speculation.

In the report on Yahoo Sports they introduced the earlier incident in which he was a passenger in the car in 2006 when it was pulled over and coke was found.

Beamer's quote is telling too:
?We have decided that it would be best for Branden to pursue other opportunities,? Beamer said in a statement Wednesday. ?Branden has had many great moments here at Virginia Tech, and we wish him well.?

This is normally PC speech for "Ore screwed up one too many times and he is out."
