Police/Legal Blotter (stop breaking the law, asshole!)

Absolutely. These kids stole some pillows, the occasional alarm clock, small toiletry items, a bottled water out of the minibar, maybe even a couple towels. The Miami kids would have taken the mattress and television and shot the hotel clerk on the way out. The Ole Miss kids clearly don't have what it takes to play for the U.

Absolutely pathetic.

Although I will say that staying in hotels in home games is something I've heard a lot of college and pro teams do. Keeps them away from any distractions, coaches can keep tabs on everyone etc.

... keeps them away from *any*, but, i guess, not *all*. nobody's perfect, but it's good that the wardens, ahem coaches, have adopted a strategy that's clearly working for them, then!!! :roll1:

Pillar of society and one time Buckeye recruiting target (lucky miss) Selwyn Lymon is done at Purdue.

2nd Article:

Drunk Driving and Fleeing Arrest. 2nd offense on OMVI.

It's the second operating a vehicle while intoxicated charge filed against him in Tippecanoe Superior Court 6 in just over two months.
"Selwyn is the victim of making some very poor choices, and, in addition to dealing with the legal ramifications of those poor choices, he no longer will be a part of the football program at Purdue," Purdue coach Joe Tiller said in a statement Tuesday. "As a human being, we will support him and do whatever we can to help him earn his degree. I plan to meet with him as soon as we can get together."
I really dislike that language - Selwyn is not the victim of anything. He got caught doing something wrong, something he was already caught doing before. He knew it was wrong, he still went ahead and repeated his poor behavior "made his poor choice." He is not a victim at all.

Boston College Suspends Backup RB Brooks before ACC Title Game

This story has some kick to it.

Boston College backup running back A.J. Brooks has been suspended from the team indefinitely after allegedly beating and kicking a 20-year-old man on campus. Brooks was released on $250 bail Monday after pleading not guilty to charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, for allegedly kicking the man with his shoe on, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley's office.

Guess a slipper would have been OK then?

Two Texas players, who were suspended before the season by Mack Brown, have been indicted.

Since they were freshmen, it could either be considered a redshirt year or a (burnt) orange jumpsuit year.

UT duo indicted on felony charges
Suspended Jones, Henry allegedly involved in robbery

AUSTIN (AP) -- Suspended Texas football players Andre Jones and James Henry were indicted Thursday on felony charges for their alleged involvement in a July robbery.

Jones, a freshman defensive tackle, was indicted on four counts of robbery. Henry, a freshman running back and safety, was indicted for knowingly destroying or concealing stolen items.

Texas coach Mack Brown suspended both players after their arrests following the alleged July 27 home invasion.

Florida starter arrested for battery
DE Cunningham hit restaurant worker with sandwich

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Florida defensive end Jermaine Cunningham and a former teammate were arrested Wednesday on a misdemeanor battery charge because they allegedly hit a restaurant worker with a sandwich and cups, police said.

Cunningham and former Gators linebacker Jon Demps were being held without bond, according to Alachua County Jail records.

Gainesville police said they were arrested after a restaurant employee told officers the players harassed him when told they needed to pay for a bag of chips. The two became verbally abusive toward the man and hit him with a sandwich and empty soda cups, according to a police report.

Thus proving that he was all that AND a bag of chips.

They clearly misunderstood Urban Meyer's strategy for containing a QB who uses pump-fakes to throw off the extra DB:

Yes, that would be his "pumpernickel" defense.
