MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota cornerback and Brookhaven graduate Dominic Jones was charged yesterday with third-degree criminal sexual conduct after investigators said they found cell phone video that showed him in a sex act with a woman who was "physically helpless."
Three other Gophers players remain suspects in the case, which began in April after an 18-year-old woman said she had been raped at an apartment complex near campus.
"The charges represent a significant next step in this case," Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said. "The charge is a serious one."

I was just going to like the PDF file when I saw you had already. Really sick stuff.... EDSBS take on this

We?ll just begin with a nice blanket statement here. If you don?t want to read about really, really sordid details concerning the Minnesota sexual assault case, then don?t click the link, m?kay? M?kay. Think about happy puppies instead, or maybe a nice plate of pad thai, or something.

Hurricanes QB injured, another charged in rollover crash

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) ? A Miami football player was charged with careless driving and a highly touted freshman quarterback was among three players injured early Monday after a one-car crash in southwest Florida.

The car overturned several times before stopping on its roof. Alcohol was not a factor, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Jermaine McKenzie, 18, was ticketed after telling troopers he fell asleep while driving a 2007 Dodge Charger on Interstate 75 near Naples, Fla., about 120 miles from Miami's campus.

Quarterback Robert Marve, 18, was in the back seat and suffered what the FHP termed as minor injuries. A university spokesman declined comment, saying the school was gathering information, but The Miami Herald reported Marve needed surgery on his left ? non-throwing ? hand, citing information from Robert Weiner, Marve's high school coach.

"They want to cleanse his hand and make sure it's not infected," Weiner told the newspaper.

A third player, Colin McCarthy, 19, also was mildly shaken up, officials said.

What's an 18 year old scholarship case doing driving a 2007 Dodge Challenger? MoC had new wheels I seem to recall and the Michigan bastketballers that flipped over a Ford Explorer....

Can you make car payments on meal money or is there a lot of alumni "gifting" going on?

Who says he doesn't have money from his family? I don't actually know anything about his situation, but I'd like to know the facts before jumping on that bandwagon.

After Willie Williams rolled a brand new Tahoe that was registered in his name enroute the Peach Bowl a couple of years ago, would anyone be shocked that this kid had a 2007 Charger?

AD played basketball with one of my best friends for a number of years.. when he came back last week they talked about all of this..

Alex said he was in the wrong place at the wrong time, he didn't do anything but keith and d jones and another brookhaven non-football player did, and that she was fine with it until one of her freinds was pissed (i believe it was something to do with her being so beat up afterwards.. ie. not walking) and here came the rape charges.. one of my other friends asked if he was going to press charges against her and he said no, he just wants to move on..

but, imo, if he took the cell phone video looks like he did a little more than being in the wrong place..

this is NOT an excuse for him or any of those guys, just thought some on BP would be interested to know what AD is saying.

I don't give a shit what those guys are saying. If she was unresponsive and they brought her into the bedroom and took it to her while she was unconscious then they deserve whatever they get.

As the father of three daughters I know what I would have to do in order to be able to sleep at night. Those motherfuckers wouldn't be playing any more football, that's for sure.

I hope your friend was joking? Press charges against her? I'm sure he does just want to move on.

I hope he gets raped and bukakeed in jail, like they did to this girl

well AD is saying she was not unresponsive, and she was wanting it.. again not defending any of them.. not trying to turn this into the benoit thread again.

I agree with you, and I too (as someone said above) am happy these guys didn't enroll at tOSU afterall.. disgusting.

I know that some of this is in the Alex Daniels thread - but a place here for news of the dismissal from the team of all four players involved in the Gopher (UM) sexual assault allegations.

Yahoo - Brewster Dismisses 4 Players from Team

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Four University of Minnesota football players being investigated in a sexual assault were kicked off the team Wednesday.
Dominic Jones, a cornerback charged Monday with third-degree criminal sexual conduct in connection with the alleged rape of an 18-year-old woman in April, and three teammates -- running back E.J. Jones, defensive end Alex Daniels and defensive back Keith Massey were dismissed from the team Wednesday, coach Tim Brewster said.

"It is an honor and a privilege to wear the uniform of the University of Minnesota and we have exceedingly high expectations for each of our student-athletes," Brewster said in a statement issued by the university. "We spend a considerable amount of time addressing our players regarding their personal conduct and we will not compromise our values. We are establishing a culture of integrity and we will demand that our players are held accountable for their actions."
Dominic Jones, a junior and one of the team's best defensive players, is accused of having sex with a woman who was "physically helpless" after a night of binge drinking at a campus apartment in early April.
...
The school said the dismissals do not immediately affect the four players' scholarship status or standing as students at the university, but both are subject to review by the NCAA and the school.
