Oregon's Kiko Alonso arrested

Pending Alonso's release from jail, corrections officials could not confirm the charges the lineback was arrested for. The Oregonian reported Sunday that Alonso was arrested and charged with burglary, criminal mischief and criminal trespass.

While 2011 rosters have not been set, Alonso would have competed for a starting spot on the Oregon defense to replace recently drafted Casey Matthews, who was picked up by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round.

Since they've simplified the Oregon offense so that plays can be read from those giant cards they hold up on the sideline. Perhaps they should hang a couple from the locker room/weight room that say: "STOP STEALING STUFF" or maybe "PLEASE AVOID ARREST"

Just trying to think outside of the box. It's what Chip Kelly would want.

CORAL GABLES -
University of Miami defensive tackle Jeffrey Brown was suspended
indefinitely from the team after being arrested and charged with sexual
battery Wednesday.

The woman told police that she returned to her dorm ill from drinking
too much and passed out after throwing up in Brown's bathroom. Brown
helped her to her room, placed a trash can by her bed and left. He then
returned "under pretense that he was concerned for her well-being."

According to the affidavit, the woman was sleeping when Brown started
removing her clothes. She awoke with him on top of her and repeatedly told
him to stop as he allegedly raped her.

According to police, Brown was read his Miranda rights and during an
interview initially denied having sex with the woman. He later
admitted to having sex with her.
Had he gone with the "consensual sex - she was drunk but said she was willing" he might have he said/she said it. Going from "no" to "dur....I meant yes" is not such a good idea, no matter what the real deal was.

Coach Randy is most definitely gone. Miss him yet Shark?

Two Ole Miss players arrested for public intox

Two promising freshmen on the Ole Miss defense are in trouble today... and it's not the first time for either of them. According to the Oxford Crime Report, Delvin Jones and Clarence Jackson were arrested early this morning on charges of public intoxication.

As the article notes, Jackson had already been suspended after four games for the remainder of the 2010 season by Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt this year, but he had already earned his way in the starting lineup during spring play as a Will linebacker this year. Jones, meanwhile, played in two games as a true freshman at defensive end before earning a suspension late in the season for what the website reports was a couch-burning incident.

Both men are only 19 years old, so from a legal perspective they shouldn't have had access to alcohol at all, but that fact has no bearing on either man's arrest. The University Police Department in Oxford informed CBSSports.com that the main condition for arrest for public intoxication is exhibiting the classic signs of drunkenness -- not necessarily meeting a certain blood alcohol level that may vary by age, as with DUI charges. Further, the charges were filed at 3:40 in the morning, which is almost late/early enough to see the sun rise.

Late last night, the University of Pittsburgh announced that Gonzalez had been suspended for violation of team rules. No other details were given by the school.
However, a newspaper report is shedding some light on why Gonzalez is in trouble with Graham.

Bill Kline from The Morning Call, reports that Bethlehem (PA.) police said that Gonzalez was arrested early Friday on a charge of marijuana possession in Bethlehem. Gonzalez and two other men were arrested at 12:46 a.m. Friday at E. 3rd and Hobart streets in Bethlehem, police said. All three men are 19 and from Bethlehem, police said.

Dayum. Shannon been gone 6 months and already:

- Five players have left the team
- Several have reportedly been suspended for the 2011 season opener
- Two have been arrested
- Tater Tot decided not to play for the Hurricanes.

I love the shot Golden decided to fire Tot's way....

"I'm not going to sell out Tate, but he didn't do everything he was supposed to do," Golden said without elaboration. "Bottom line, it was in his best interest to go somewhere else."
