Ex-Iowa player found guilty of lesser assault charge
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- A jury has convicted a former University of Iowa football player of misdemeanor assault related to an October 2007 sexual encounter with a female athlete.
Jurors returned their verdict Thursday against 21-year-old Cedric Everson after 10 hours of deliberations, which started Tuesday. Everson faces up to 30 days in jail when he's sentenced.
Prosecutors claimed Everson sexually assaulted the woman in an empty dorm room while she was passed out after one of Everson's teammates, Abe Satterfield, assaulted her. Everson's attorney claimed the woman was blacked out and didn't remember consenting to sex with Everson.
Jurors did not find Everson guilty on the more serious charge of third-degree sexual abuse.

If you read the story, she was not not with Everson. She was with Sutterfield. She may not have a reasonable expectation not to have sex with the guy she goes to bed naked with because she is too bombed to remember the details...(not saying her claim of being forced by Sutterfield is right or wrong here) but she sure as shit has a right to expect that Sutterfield won't let the team pull a train on her while she is passed out.colobuck79;1860551; said:So the consent would have been something like this: "I just want you to know, if I should pass out tonight, I hereby consent that you may have sex with me."

Both were taken to the Cleveland County jail and had posted bond by Saturday evening. No telephone listings for either could be found.
Jefferson is a freshman defensive back. Stills, a freshman wide receiver, picked up 516 receiving yards in the 2010 season.
