I am confused.

The Thornton "bar incident" and arrest happened on Sept. 26.
There were two Illinois' games since Sept. 26,
vs. tOSU on Oct. 2,
vs. Penn State on Oct. 9.

What 2 game suspensions did he serve?

I don't know if he sat the entire game or not, but at the very least Jack Cornell started both games in place of Thornton against tOSU and PSU.

It will be interesting to see how this delevelops for Dantonio and Rucker. Will they try to reduce the recommended jail time, or will they be able to delay it until after the football season?

Jail time recommended for Michigan State's Rucker

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- The probation officer for Michigan State's Chris L. Rucker has recommended the defensive back spend 21 days in jail for breaking probation.

Rucker was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated on Sunday, several hours after the Spartans beat rival Michigan for the third straight year.

Rucker has until next Wednesday to appear for arraignment.
Last November, he was sentenced to 12 months' probation and 150 hours of community service for assault for his role in an on-campus fight.

Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio has suspended the starting defensive back for at least Saturday's game against Illinois.

From the FOX News article (above): Earlier this year, Oliver Fricker of Switzerland was sentenced to five months in jail and three cane strokes for breaking into a train depot with an accomplice and spray painting subway cars. Fricker later appealed his sentence and a judge added two months to his jail term.

He must of had a really great lawyer.

Only in Singapore: Several years ago whle in Singapore on a cruise ship stop; another couple, my wife and myself arranges for a city tour with a local cab driver. Besides the tour being very reasonably priced, we gave the driver a TIP (about 10 - 15% of the price); the driver said that the TIP was too much and actually gave most of it back. OK now, in what other country have you ever heard of a cab driver actually giving money back?

O.J. Simpson verdict upheld

LAS VEGAS -- The Nevada Supreme Court refused Friday to overturn O.J. Simpson's armed robbery and kidnapping convictions, rejecting a claim that prospective jurors were dismissed because they were black.
Simpson attorney Yale Galanter planned to take Simpson's appeal to federal court after his 2008 conviction in the gunpoint heist in a Las Vegas hotel room was upheld.
"This is but the first step in a very long line of appeals that Mr. Simpson has before him," Galanter said.
Galanter was trying to reach Simpson in prison but had not yet spoken to the former NFL hall-of-famer, actor and advertising pitchman.
"I'm extremely disappointed," added Malcolm LaVergne, another Simpson lawyer. "I thought we had a very strong appeal."
The court said all eight separate issues raised in the appeal -- some alleging misconduct by prosecutors and the judge -- were without merit.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP)—Oklahoma State star wide receiver Justin Blackmon was arrested early Tuesday on a suburban Dallas highway on a misdemeanor DUI complaint and his status with the Cowboys was unclear headed into the final weeks of the season.

Blackmon was arrested at 3:45 a.m. after officers used radar to determine he was driving 92 mph in a 60 mph zone along Interstate 35 in Carrollton, Texas, police spokesman Dustin Bartram said.

Coach Mike Gundy wasn’t ready to make any immediate decisions regarding discipline for Blackmon, who leads the Bowl Subdivision with 158.9 yards receiving per game. He has 62 catches for 1,112 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Blackmon's speeding/DUI has earned him a 1-game suspension from Mike Gundy.

Regarding the last line in this quoted section - I think somebody will make him answer that question fairly soon also - if he wants to keep playing this year.

Okla St WR Blackmon suspended for 1 game

STILLWATER, Okla. -- Oklahoma State star wide receiver Justin Blackmon won't play Saturday against Kansas State after his arrest on a misdemeanor DUI charge.

Coach Mike Gundy announced Blackmon's suspension Wednesday during a news conference after the Cowboys practiced. Blackmon also briefly addressed reporters, saying he "made a mistake" and takes "full responsibility" for it.

"I'm embarrassed to be in this position," Blackmon said. "I'm truly sorry to my family, to my friends and to Oklahoma State all together. I look forward to redeeming myself and proving to everybody that this isn't who I am. I'm not this guy. I'm humbled by this experience and I will grow from it.

"I did it and I should be punished for it. I'm just going to take my punishment like I should."

Blackmon and three friends attended the Dallas Cowboys' game Monday night against the New York Giants. Gundy said he was not aware of the trip and Blackmon didn't say he had permission to go. Monday was an off day from practice for Oklahoma State players, Gundy said.

"I just kind of up and went," he said.

Blackmon said he can't comment on where he got the tickets for the NFL game.
