Wow. Good thing we left actually, I don' think Steve's back would have been able to withstand 8-10 hours of standing. He was shifting his weight to relieve his back after just an hour of us tramping around shooting video.

The Biggest Loser
representatives said it was the largest turnout for a casting call in
Biggest Loser history. They were expecting about 50...0 -700 people, and
1,300+ actually showed up to audition with thousands of others to
support them. This overwhelming crowd was full of wonderful people
& the crew did the best they could under the circumstances to move
everyone through. Unfortunately, many (200-400+) didn?t get the
opportunity to audition

How does he get picked to be on the show? Is it based off the youtube hits?

A casting director or team of them will decide. Not sure what the actual parameters are but part of what they look for is your "star quality." The more exposure he gets, the more it is seen that people WILL watch him and are interested in his story, the better his chances. The link to youtube was sent along with a dvd of his video with his application package. We (Me) are hoping that the number of hits and the comments will help make him shine out.
