So, let's say the Buckeyes back into the playoffs and win the whole enchilada. What would Buckeye fans think of Ryan Day then?

I think it’d reinforce the pretty common belief at this point, his team is built for speed, not comfort (stealing from Wedding Crashers).

To me, my likely take away is this team will always be dangerous on fast tracks where we can utilize elite playmakers.

But things get tricky in the Big 10 when weather begins to turn. That’s when big boy football needs to come out offensively, and we often don’t have that in our bag.

The way I look at it: They have 3 goals every year.....1. beat ttun, 2. win B1G, 3. win NC.

Typically, if you don't take care of #1, then #2 and/or #3 don't happen. In this scenario, they could still accomplish #3, as unlikely as it sounds... and who knows, may get another crack at #1 in the same season if certain chips fall into place. Now wouldn't that be fun? or do all you Buckeye fans want to crawl into a hole bc it might be tough and we're affraid of what the results might be? Man up. We want the playoffs.

This team deserves a shot more than any other out there if USC/TCU slip up, despite the “Sky is falling!” mentality currently on full display where Ohio State is concerned.

Saturday was a game of inches, naysayers be damned. If a few things click in the other direction, we’re having a completely different conversation today. I hate the way the second half ended as much as anyone else, but let’s not pretend that they marched in and smashed this team’s skull open from the opening kick.

If none of you remember 2006… maybe you need a wake-up call. There is no Goliath, it’s a myth.

We get to see if Ohio State gets the benefit of any doubts...

I don't think they will though. Remember who ultimately calls the shots when it comes to the CFP. It's not an entity that is friendly to the Big Ten or Ohio State's brands.

Ohio State has 1 playoff win in the last 5 years. Bama has 6 playoff wins and 2 national titles in the last 5 years.

It's easy to see who's gonna get the benefit of the doubt.

Past results shouldn't matter, but I highly doubt they don't at least get brought up in these discussions. "we know Bama can do it!"

Alabama's entire resume in 2022 is admirable losses and only beating a poor man's Penn State (Ole Miss).
