Players Returning/Declaring for NFL Draft 2012

I guess he could possibly move into the 2nd round, but it's hard to imagine him having a better year than he did this year. I tend to think mid-to-late 2nd round is his ceiling, and I doubt he'll ever be a feature back.
Matching that production will be impossible, particularly with losing Wilson, Toon and their star Off Coord, not to mention the OL coach, the WR coach and maybe the TE coach.

There's no way I pass on him in the second round unless there are major character issues we don't know about.

this is a mistake... dude will likely get exposed more than he already has... with Barkley not going, he woulda been slotted the #3 QB... then have some idiot team trade up, jags/vikes I'm looking at you, to take him..

I hope next year he is no where near the browns draft board

Yeah, bad move. I can see him having a draft killing season next year. OU fans, get ready for extra helpings of Blake Bell.

I disagree that it's a mistake. I think that he was givien a lower grade than what many people thought he would get, and that he was given a list of things that he needs to do to improve. I usually think that it's a good idea for a QB to get an assessment and then go back and work on the things that the NFL told him to work on. There are exceptions, but Landry, being strictly a pocket passer, isn't one of them, in my IMO opinion.

This is a bit of a surprise if it happens. I would think Brock would do good in Graham's offense.

Reports surfaced Thursday that junior quarterback Brock Osweiler has decided to leave Arizona State and declare for the NFL draft.

Sources indicate that Osweiler is indeed leaning toward that direction, but as of Thursday night, Osweiler's father, John, said in a text message that his son is 'going over some last-minute details" and that the family hopes to announce a decision Friday.

Devils Digest, citing an anonymous report, reported that Osweiler would announce his NFL intentions at a Friday news conference. As of Thursday night, ASU spokesman Mark Brand said no news conference has been scheduled.

This surprises me: Matt Kalil, OT, USC, Nick Perry, DE, USC. Lots of folks, myself included, see them as a top 10 team in 2012 and I would think it would benefit both of these guys draft wise to be there.

If the numbers game - loss of 30 scholies - leaves them loaded with talent, but thin on the bench, then the loss of these 2 could create a hole.

Without Luck Stanford will be down, Oregon will be loaded again, but USC could grab the brass ring if they can escape a rash of injuries.

Jerel Worthy, MSU DT decalres for NFL

Michigan State DT Jerel Worthy has hired an agent and plans to enter the NFL draft, according to Draftheadquarters.com. He will make an official announcement on Thursday afternoon.

Worthy led a Spartans defense that was one of the Big Ten's best in 2011. He finished the year with 30 tackles, including nine for loss, and 3.5 sacks.

He is projected to be a first-round pick, though there is some concern he doesn't always get the most out of his talent.

Edit- Whoa, I was real late on this one.

Kalil will be a top 5 pick, and Perry top 20. How much more could Kalil really raise his stock? Those guys have more of the traditional thinking of going and getting the money while you can... I think they are 100% correct.

Thanks for the update. Didn't realize they projected that high. Certainly helps explain Trojan success the last 2 years.

Some of the below might be repeats from the previous page:!
Oregon junior running back LaMichael James declared himself eligible for the NFL draft.

James said he has not hired an agent.

A 5-foot-9, 195-pound All-American, James rushed for a school-record 1,805 yards this season despite missing two games because of a dislocated right elbow. He led the nation with an average of 150.4 yards.

Other players who declared for the draft:

? Arizona State junior quarterback Brock Osweiler, who passed for 4,036 yards this season.

? Virginia Tech junior running back David Wilson, who rushed for 1,709 yards and nine touchdowns this season.

? Boston College junior linebacker Luke Kuechly, a two-time All-American.

? Michigan State junior running back Edwin Baker, who ran for 665 yards and five touchdowns this season.

? Clemson All-America tight end Dwayne Allen, who caught 50 passes this season.

Darron Thomas either thinks the other shoe is about to drop on Oregon, or he doesn't think at all.
Adam Kramer @KegsnEggs Close
Darron Thomas must be getting his NFL Draft advice from Willie Lyles.
