Pizza Man says he's going to conduct a national search

Pizza man confirms that any recruiting visits for this week will be canceled (perhaps rescheduled).

Or, perhapds, they didn't have any visit lined up since most of RR's recruits are already walking around campus carrying book-bags filled with dreams of walking on and starting.

Dick is the consummate professional.

Some shit about the "drama" he's faced since he's been on campus (RR that is)

"The Buyout is what the buyout is.... it's a matter of public record"

More Harbaugh.... "Billionaires chasing him around"
"And again this is just from what I hear on things out there....."

He doesn't seem interested in getting JH - or is at least reserved to the fact that JH has his eyes on the NFL and doesn't seem to be "wasting his time" trying to convince JH otherwise.

Now, that could be the "public face" and behind the doors, he's trying... I don't know... but... I don't see the point in saying the stuff he's said if he's serious about getting JH. That would seem to be giving Harbaugh even MORE negotiating position, in my view.

from your recap, it lends a little credence to the rumor earlier about Mr. Pizza wanting Hoke, but the boosters wanting JH. Almost like he's talking directly to the boosters saying "I know that you want him, but he doesn't want to come. Get over it."

National search... established coach...

I think most coaches answer the phone, but how many don't laugh after the polite greeting?

Les Miles? Maybe, if successful at Michigan he would have more job security than he has at LSU where he is just a 7-5 year from being fired. He might listen to the entire phone call.

Chris Peterson? Might hear him out all the way, but seems to love Boise. Could do a lot worse than Michigan though if he's waiting for something "big" to open up.

Patterson and Willingham are unlikely to listen for very long this season because of the pending move of TCU and Utah to BCS conferences.

Dan Mullen? Don't think so, MSU is paying him big bucks and I think he'd prefer to stay south and wait for one of the Texas, LSU, Georgia type schools to open up.

Brady Hoke? Personally don't think he's ready (as do most) but career path may be somewhat like JH; Harbaugh is a guy who came from relative obscurity from San Diego in I-AA (granted he's the son of a former coach and a former NFL QB, so its not total obscurity) to coach at a BCS school. But that school is Stanford, not a "legendary" program like TSUN. And its arguable if Hoke is indeed established and national. I love him at San Diego State, but he is limited in his resume.

One of the Stoops brothers? Possibly. Mike Stoops has done very well with limited resources at Arizona. Has a protypical Big Ten scheme. Could do a lot worse than Michigan if he's looking to move on.

Who else would really listen who fits the "national" and "established" profile?

Could be. Dinardo just opined that Pizza man was "masterful" by sending the message "Hey, Jim, if you're interested, we're interested" As if it's up to JH to make the first move.

Which if that's the 'plan' to get Harbaugh seems astonishingly stupid.

I think we've been rooting for the wrong guy all along. Instead of rooting for RR to stay we should should hope that "Pizza Man" never loses his AD job. As long as that clown is running things their football team will be in constant rebuilding mode.

I suggest a deal. You write four copies of a letter. Bill Martin will send his four fastest sailboats, one in each direction. We'll run up the white flag and deliver your message. If Harbaugh wants you, bless you both. If not ... please consider Brady Hoke as an alternative to suicide. Are we agreed?
