Drop 2 against San Diego - the fucking Padres have never lost a series at PNC Park - but back to back wins over the Tigers push the Bucs back to 9 games over .500.

No idea how they're doing it given the current state of the roster, but I'll take it. :pirate:

Somehow, the Bucs would make the playoffs as of right now. Given all of the things that have gone wrong this season - as opposed to last year when a lot of things went right - I'm pleased as hell with that. Hopefully, they can maintain it.

Hurdle (who I happen to think is a great manager) made a huge gaffe by throwing Gerrit Cole on Sunday when the division was nothing more than a pipe dream (down 1 game with 1 game to play, they would've had to win on Sunday, and the Cards lose on Sunday, and the Pirates win a 1-game playoff with the Cards 1 day later, in order to win the division). That left him with Volquez in the inevitable 1-game WC playoff game and, well, we see how that turned out. Giants are now up 7-0 at the stretch.
