Pittsburgh Penguins (Official Thread)

Fleury needs to wake up. He was fortunate they put up eight goals today because he was awful. He's been letting in some questionable goals of late.

Not every goal is the fault of the goalie. I can think of at least 2 of those goals yesterday that were not on him because he had no chance to stop them.

Not much defense played by either side yesterday.

Malkin is playing as good as Crosby was last season before the concussion. Simply amazing. He's a threat in both zones on every shift. Neal and Kunitz are the perfect linemates for him.

Paul Martin looked much better last night. So did Michalek. They weren't paired together, and they both had maybe their best games of the season.. not a coincidence.

Malkin, second in the league in goals with 32 (Five behind Stamkos), has scored a goal in eight consecutive home games.

James Neal has 29 goals himself, so having the #2 and #4 top goal scorers in the league on the same line has just been lethal. Add Kunitz to the mix and you have a trio of line mates who perfectly compliment one another.

Kris Letang knocked out of tonight's game with this hit from Eric Nystrom in the first period.

Malkin has had an unbelievable season so far, and it's kind of overshadowing how awesome Jordan Staal has been. He has 22 goals/36 points in 46 games. Over a full season that's 39 goals/64 points. Along with Selke-caliber defense. That is ridiculous.

There's talk of Staal being on the same line as Crosby when Sid gets back.. I could see that being a great mix. Crosby always plays well with grinder-types, and Staal is that + offense. Could be awesome. Can't wait to see this team healthy, since they're playing so damn well without the best player in the world and a top 10 d-man in the world.

Flyers erase two-goal deficit, 11-game streak for Pens

Crosby has 5 assists, is a +4 & has 10 shots on goal in his three games since returning.

Kris Letang has 3 assists, is a +6 and has 14 shots on goal in his three games back.

Pens now sit one point back of the Rangers for first place in the Atlantic Division & Eastern Conference with 11 games left to play. I really think they're going to catch New York and clinch home ice throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs.

I hope so because I DO NOT want a first round clash with Philly. Let them play New York and Boston before they get to Pittsburgh

Was at the game tonight. The offense is so efficient right now, it's out of control. Malkin, Neal and Kunitz = best line in hockey by far. MAF is playing great. This team is clicking at the perfect time.

Only bad thing about tonight was how awful Crosby looked. But he looked ridiculous the previous game. Probably tired.

The Malkin line has 18 points in the last two games. 8 goals.

Dupuis has a 16-game point streak. That's the best streak this season in the NHL and the best since Crosby's before his concussion.

Ridiculous.

20 minutes from clinching home ice. I have tickets to the first playoff game in Pittsburgh. I'm hoping it's game 1 against Philly. :banger:
