The Cubs futility versus the Pirates is even worse than I thought. Pittsburgh is 14-6 their last 20 meetings, 7-2 their last 9 games in Wrigley.

Cris Carpenter came into today with an 11-1 record versus the Pirates. He's now 11-2.

The Bucs started the season winning two road series in the division. They hadn't won consecutive road series anywhere since 2007. I'm a long way from buying into them but it's a good way to start a season.

I caught the very end of this on Sportscenter earlier. Does anyone know the backstory on this? It seems kind of odd--the chanting of U-S-A in the background and the jorts? If I didn't know better, I would've sworn this was a Braves or a Marlins home game.
