Pick'em Automation is online

Mili and I shared a few dipshit sandwiches at lunch today:biggrin:

Thanks for making me feel better Mils

Lol, I think everyone is just used to it going to some sort of static confirmation page showing your picks. I just didn't see the point. As is, it shows your picks with the populated buttons (and confidence boxes for straight) after submission, but you can change anything you like.

May not be the most intuitive route, but it's more functional. If it's hard for everyone to get used to, then I might have to think about adding a static confirmation page that has a link to the 'make/change picks' page.

Looks like it's working fine. The programmer (Shaolyen on this site) did an outstanding job in a very short timeframe.

There are a couple minor issues to tweak, but it looks serviceable as-is to me. So I think we go ahead and use it alone going forward. I've added a link to the top red navbar (second from the left), and I've already started 'finalizing' individual games. Which means you can start eyeballing the different leaderboards.

I'm looking into different ways to add in existing scores people have for weeks 1 and 2. I imagine some played in the thread for week 3, but not the game engine itself. That's all going to be a headache, but we'll figure something out.

All in all, I'm very happy with it.

My picks never did register:(

I don't know how that's possible. Can you walk me through what you did?

--edit--
Which isn't to say I don't believe you, I can see you're not in the results. I just need to try and understand where the breakdown was so we can prevent it in the future.

I clicked all of my picks in the point spread option...then clicked submit. I didn't do the straight pick option...

Is that the prob?

In the college/spread area I assume? Meaning not the pro/spread. And no, you're by no means obligated to play all four branches of the game.

If you clicked one radio button per game, pressed submit, and the page reloaded with the buttons populated as you selected them -- then I have no explanation whatsoever.

Do me a favor and go pick the pro/spread games now, and tell me what happens.

I picked the games randomly and clicked submit...the same page reloaded with my picks still in place. I left the page and then went back to the College/Pro Pick'em and my picks were still in place.

That is the same thing that happened with the college spread pick'em

We'll see what happens when I start entering results tomorrow. That's what is supposed to happen, and I haven't the first clue why it would work for dozens of people, but not you.

Again, lol, I'm not trying to sound suspicious -- you know how it is, I just need to figure out where the failure is, and I've got nothing to go on so far that I can pass on to the coder.

No worries about your picks though, everything on the thread side of the game will get plugged into the system somehow I suspect, including yours for this week.
