PF/C Kyle Madsen (official thread)

I had the same thought when I first saw he was coming. Challenging Oden in practice will be important and difficult. But none of our big boys are 5s. Even Twigs is supposed to be moving outside. Certainly you can put anybody in there in practice, but it would be nice to have someone who can emulate an experienced center.

Maybe we will play 5 on 6 and let two PFs play post in tandem.
in my experience in half court sets 4 off 5 def works better. the floor gets clogged up real fast with 11 guys. unless they want to work on kicking and shooting. we used to break presses against 7, talk about tough...

In my high school practices we did it against 8. We would also have to try and break a press by ourselves against 3 people. Now that was tough.

Ok back to madsen.

I haven't seen anything on Kyle Madsen in a long time.

Anybody know how Madsen is looking in practice?

Does he look like he has the potiential to legitimately compete for a starting center (if Oden opts for the NBA) or PF position next year?

Isn't Madsen more of a 4 rather than a 5? I know with that height he probably could play the 5 but I thought he was more suited for the 4.

His physical attributes and what I have heard about his all-around game reminds me so much of Doleman who played for Matta at X.

funny, my dad brought him up just a few days ago. I had totally forgot about this transfer and how exciting it was to get him. He'll be just another great addition to the Buckeyes. The depth next year will be amazing.
