KK just continues to impress...He will be ready for season, and I think that by midseason we will be looking at the star of the team, if not earlier in the season.

I am also in the boat of thinking that the percentages of either KK or Mullens staying more than one year is a very small percentage...

Montiejunas from Lithuania is considered one of the top young prospects in Europe (7' F/C). Draftexpress considers him a potential NBA lottery pick. He had 4 points and 7 boards compared to KK's 37 points and 20 boards.

I agree that what you say could happen. And while I haven't seen any video on him recently there are some things that have to happen to bring his potential into being.
In the allstar type games I saw him in I thought he could stand to be a little stronger and more athletic and more aggressive. If the staff can develop him in these veins ... bye bye

bingo. Against top players not ohio high school players making those numbers crazy. In the all star games the guards didn't get him in the game. In the high school games I saw, he was a freak hitting 3's and blocking shots but, the funniest thing was watching him dribble the ball up the court to beat the full court press and he did it a few times.

Macvan had 32 points and 14 rebounds against Kosta, so I guess he is human after all....KK putting up 33 and 13 is very nice again. His team sqandered a ten-point lead going into the fourth, though, and KK shot 2-6 from the FT line. Nobody's perfect.

He led the tournament in scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots.

I have no idea whether KK and MacVan went head to head guarding each other. I think Greece was a pretty thin team, so I think they play quite a bit of zone defense.

Even if they did go head to head, there is nothing to look down on as far as KK's performance. MacVan was the MVP of the U19 tournament this year for Serbia who beat USA (the one Lighty played on) in the finals. The guy is probably not an NBA prospect because of his lack of athleticism, but is a very developed player for his age. Kevin Love is probably a pretty good comparison.

Kosta loves his fans

whats up everyone, kosta and i would like to personally thankyou for all your support. he will be arriving back home in ohio within the week and then he and jon diebler are coming down to my hometown of baltimore so we can go to ocean city, one last week of fun before the season and school starts back up, and to reply about the possiblilty of oden, kosta, and bj mullens leaving after one year. Kosta loves ohio in every which way, i promise you that and he has no intentions of leaving after one year. Of course you know that nothing is etched in stone but as of right now kosta will be playing at least 2 years for the buckeyes, again thankyou all for your support.

Dino, have a great time in Maryland with the boys, and take good care of 'em!

Of course, we also never would have guessed we would lose Conley before last season began. If Kosta shows the skills in the college game that we all "expect" him to show, it would be really hard to say no to a top-10 position in the draft. A 7'1" (2.16 M on the foreign sites) guy with Kosta's skills and drive is going to get mentioned in the very elite range. If he stays for more than one, we will be thrilled with seeing him and 7'0" BJ Mullens on the court at the same time!

Congrats to Kosta on an eye-opening (for the Euros) performance in Spain. Truly impressive.

In the Serbia match, Koufos had 33 points and 13 rebounds. Koufos averaged 26.5 points, 10.9 field goals, 13 total rebounds, 9.8 defensive rebounds, 3.5 blocked shots, and 7 double-doubles, all tops in those categories, and was voted MVP. He'll play center for the Greek team at the Olympics in Beijing next year, my guess.

Konstantinos Koufos made up for a slight amount of upset of missing out on the gold medal by picking up the UMCOR U18 European Championship Men Most Valuable Player award.
Koufos blew the opposition off the court averaging 26.5 points, 13 rebounds and 3.5 blocked shots whilst playing nearly every minute of the tournament for Greece.

"This is a proud achievement" said Koufos, despite his disappointment of not having the gold medal his performances deserved.
"A gold medal would have been better! MVP is usually the guy with the most points, but of course I?m still proud, you know".
Koufos not only scored the most points but also had the most rebounds and the most blocked shots, as he scored double-doubles in all but one game of the tournament.

In the final he managed 33 points and 13 rebounds, but was still philosophical about his side?s defeat.
"Serbia is a great team," he said.
"So you can't be upset about losing to them. We just wanted to do better."

The highly talented center, who was raised in Ohio in the US by his Greek mother, has dazzled scouts, fans and reporters who hadn't had a chance to see his skills before this tournament due to him playing in the States.

Next season he will continue his highly promising career at Ohio State University.

With all due respect, he will have to get much stronger to be efficient at the center position if he does play in the 2008 Olympics. Most of the players in the Olympics are older and therefore much more mature.
