Peyton Hillis (official thread)

As much as I like Hillis and what he has done the past couple games, I think we should wait on some guys before starting an individual thread on a player. Let's wait until at least the player plays in the Pro Bowl.

Safe to say this beast of a man deserves his own thread...

Anyone else find it kind of bizarre that this guy is putting up better numbers than the two first round picks he blocked for at Arkansas?

Kind of cool if you ask me.

Actually, McFadden is having a pretty good year in his own right - arguably better than Hillis. McFadden currently has more yards, higher YPG and YPC than Hillis. Hillis has a few more TDs.

It is kinda crazy though that Hillis was so anonymous in college.

Personally just taking a look back that that 2008 Arky team is rather impressive.

McFadden, Jones and Hillis? Good god....

I think you mean 2006 & 07 rather than 2008?

The funniest part of that is the stage parents of Mustain, Williams & Cleveland throwing a hissy fit because they didn't pass enough. If I had those RBs I don't think I'd throw more than seven passes a game, and I'd probably have McFadden throw at least five of them.

Apologies. Hillis was drafted in 08, my bad.

Still, that's 3 college RB's playing for the same team, during the same years - then went on to be starting RB's for their respective NFL teams.

Next to Sanders and Thomas @ Okie State.... anything else close to that?

ESPN Radio (I want to say it was Gottlieb yesterday?) threw Peyton Hillis out as a serious MVP candidate for the AFC Offense. Just thought it was good to see Peyton get some acknowledgement for the job he's done so far this year.

The best thing about the Hillis-Quinn deal was the Browns got the Broncos to throw in a draft pick, too.

The boy genius in Denver lost Brandon Marshall, traded Hillis for Quinn and traded up to draft Tebow in the first round, not to mention the Cutler trade.

After starting his coaching career 6-0 he's gone 4-14. Methinks he'll be fired after this season.
