Gone wrong

Just saying.

No way he has that many weapons just for a turkey shoot.

Not trying to project, just not understanding the innuendo here. Nearly 8 million American men own 15 guns or more. Believe I've read that less than 3% of the population are in possession of half the guns.

Certainly not uncommon among people I know. Couldn't even name all the family members that have rifles upon rifles of every different make, model, caliber, purpose, and vintage.

People have hobbies. For some, collecting a large sampling of rifles is among them, and I don't begrudge them a legitimate, and legal, pursuit.

That's neither here nor there in this particular scenario... simply pointing out that a person having dozens of rifles and thousands of rounds stockpiled is not, cannot, would not, ever be an accurate predictor of domestic terrorism.

Also a good point.

I get it. I myself have 6, going on 10, in my stash which I will hopefully grow soon.

Redundancy calls for 5, maybe 6 at most. Otherwise you swap mags on the one your with and keep on keepin' on.

Fails happen. Switch out then.

You don't take an arsenal like that for a 10 minute shooting spree.

Just my IMO.

And didn't knock the rifle off balance.
why would it be assumed that the rifle was not knocked off balance? something tells me that bipod mount might have had something to do with the resulting position.

Came nearly competely out of his jacket, but didn't touch the rifle.
what's more likely? that he shot himself with his foot under the rifle and fell while his foot remained under the rifle? or that a co-conspirator or a team of conspirators planned and carried out everything almost perfectly, killed paddock, got away without being caught or seen... but thought placing the rifle over paddock's foot made sense?

Seems pretty remarkable to me the boys in blue identified the hotel room and got up there so quickly. Then there is the whole bravery thing of running toward trouble whenever everyone else is running away from it. Kind of funny how that is totally forgotten in all the anti-police rhetoric these days. It's kind of like I heard an attorney say one time "Everyone hates attorneys until they need one."

Hats off to all the brave men and women in all the different roles that stepped up. You have more stones than I do.

Agreed! Also, I read that someone who was on a floor near the shooter's room heard the shots and called the police. This greatly expedited the process of locating the origin of the shots. All in all, it could have been so much worse. Hard to believe.
