His girlfriend is a Filipina. He supposedly sent her back to Manila weeks before the shootings. The $100k was likely money for her to live on for a long time ($100k in the PI is like at least $500k here) since he likely knew he wasn't going to remain alive.

Yeah, the 100k seems pretty unimportant to me. Just wanted to wire her a nice chunk of change since he knew he wouldn't be coming out on the good side of what he was planning, and she probably wouldn't get much of anything after the feds seized/froze everything in their investigation.

She went back four days before the shooting. And she's in LA right now, being interviewed by the FBI.

Holy shit. The plot thickens.

Las Vegas Strip mass murderer Stephen Paddock used his Mandalay Bay hotel room to spray massive aviation fuel tanks with bullets Sunday night, a knowledgeable source told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The bullets left holes, but did not penetrate the two circular white tanks, sparing the nearby Route 91 Harvest country music festival from a potentially massive explosion, the source said Wednesday.

The tanks are roughly 1,100 feet from the concert site, where Paddock killed 58 people and wounded almost 500.

Within the past couple of days, construction crews repaired and painted the holes, and FBI agents inspected the tanks and took measurements of the line of fire from Mandalay Bay, the source said.

Paddock, a 64-year-old Mesquite resident, had broken two windows in his 32nd-floor suite — one in line with the concert site and the other with a direct view of the fuel tanks, the source said. The bases of private aircraft operators are close to the tanks.

If there's one thing that Las Vegas is good at (besides the gambling and escorts), it's surveillance. Most of this is dedicated to the casino floors, but I'm sure there's a whole treasure trove of digital data that the best of the best are processing. I would assume that Mandalay Bay can track all of the movements of this guy from the time he checked in until the end, including whatever cases or bags he had. Garage, entrance, lobby, elevators, hallways likely have video. None of that's been released and that remains a big deal.
