People to Punch, Pet Peeves, and General Vexations (mega-merge)

If you think you're smart by putting "EST" or "CST" after the time a meeting is supposed to start, and you do it wrong, you're someone I want to punch.
"EST" means "Eastern Standard Time". We are currently in "Eastern Daylight Saving Time", or "EDT". If you make a meeting in August for 10:00 EST, you're doing it wrong. If you really want to set the meeting for 10:00EST, just set it for 11:00EDT.

Over the years, I’ve deleted the ‘D’s and the ‘S’s between the ‘ET’ in probably hundreds of thread titles in an attempt to be accurate and avoid confusion.

I spell it out.
9:00 Eastern Time.
I kinda want to pick a time WAY outside of the US and see how many people get confused. This meeting is set for 10:30 PM Indian Standard Time.

I'm seeing more and more people parking in handicap spots, employees of the month spots and over spaces that are reserved for specific people with zero fucks given. When a society stops respecting these basic courtesies we have fallen.
Never understood this practice by healthy people since those spaces are usually closest to the entrance. I am a fat old man with a desk/computer job and always look for a spot far away from the entrance so that I get at least a bit of exercise when I go places since I sit on my ass most of the time.

I don't know if I'd go as far as "we have fallen", but I think I agree that a dude should be able to park in any other legitimate spot.

I park way away, usually, too. But it's more of a thing where I don't want to drive near the doofuses walking into and out of the store. Plus, I got a tiny car - I don't want to try pulling out of a parking spot where there's a lot of other cars. Your minivans and other nerdy cars aren't easy for me to see around.

But to your point... how hard is it to get a handicap tag? I see people parking in those spots, and the driver and passenger get out and they're as capable as I am. But they have a tag. So.. I guess they're allowed to do that? But back to Dub's point, why would they want to park there? It's literally 3 spots closer than the first non-handicap spot.
